Pack Electronics Wiring Help

Would anyone here have any advice on the best way to connect all three of Hyperdyne Labs pack boards (pack light kit, gun light kit and pack sound kit) to operate from a single 12 volt power source and a single on/off switch? I think I’ve figured out how to do it, but wanted to see if anyone had done this already and/or had a method that worked, either confirming the thoughts I had or demonstrating a better/easier way.

Any help in this regard would be greatly appreciated.

I’m not an electrical genius by any measure, but perhaps it would help if you posted a diagram of how you intend to wire it? Even a bad mspaint diagram would probably help greatly.

Have you tried asking Hyperdyne what he suggests?

Asking Jim was going to be my next step. Though I thought there might be others on the boards who have the same question and the post could help them too.

And Crix, I did a bitmap drawing of what I was thinking, but can’t figure out how to add it to this post…

Basically what i was thinking was running a wire from the negative battery terminal to the “Activate” switch on the thrower. Then running three wires from the switch to the negative connections on the three boards (pack, gun and sound.) Then running three more wires from the positive connections on the boards to the positive terminal on the battery. Thereby completing all three power circuits through one switch.

Technically that should work though without ever seeing the setup there’s no guarentee that it will. Just make sure your battery can handle the current drain of all three boards at once.

I’m just concerned that there might be some problem with my plan that I don’t know enough to forsee. And I’d hate to ruin the electronics I have without checking to make sure.

And the battery I’ve got is a 12V 9amp hr rechargable lead acid. So that (hopefully) shouldn’t be a problem.

9000mAh? that’s a bit of juice…do your kits really pull that much current?

Hey Flynn! Shout of from Lafayette, LA!

Gonna be a StarWars party on Friday night at a Comic Book shop parking lot if you’re interested in dressing out. I’ll be there with at least one other Ghostbuster in full gear taking on a bunch of Sith.

PM me if you want details and would like to bring some friends by!

I’ve got a pair of 9000mah batteries myself, higher mAh just gives you longer run time if you’re pulling lower current.

Yeah, plenty of run time (hopefully). And the Amp for the sound system does use a good bit of juice.
