Figured I’d came about far enough along to gather my progress in one thread.
GB1
Initially I was on a kick to get a GBII suit made…and still am for that matter, but my old Rothco was getting a little worn and “snug.” So after getting my navy suit from the store, I later got a khaki to make another GB1 suit.
One change I wanted to make from my old clear hose was inspired by something that at least used to be on the Equipment section, mention of a green leg hose on the cover of the video game.
Picked up a proper leg hose connector used from a member here.
After surviving the rigamarole of dying my GBII suit, I figured I’d take the plunge and make a gray belt out of a pair of white Rothco pistol belts. Used Pearl Gray Rit, worked great except for one spot I somehow managed to miss, and one spot where apparently I somehow didn’t get all of the Royal Blue out of the plastic bin from the suit! But they’re both small and I think I can hide them pretty well. Here it is with my original Gizmo:

I was chomping at the bit to get a set of elbow pads from the shop, and they didn’t disappoint!
Also Alan Hawkins has a great thread here on making belt fobs. Here’s where I am with them, and I know they ain’t all screen-accurate but I’m pretty happy with them.
GBII
Here’s about where I’m at with my GBII suit, in a grainy photo. Par for the course for me, two parts hardware issue to one part “software” issue:
Featuring patches and pads from the shop, one of my homemade fobs, my GB2 Gizmo, cast Lifegard from Alan, and a 5.11 belt that’s just a bit too thin - I think I’ll be using my black pistol belt I had been using for my GB1 suit.
Special thanks to Mat for providing the rainbow ribbon cable for my Gizmo build! And to Demon Vice Commander for his excellent templates.
