The Phoenix ComiCon is growing up this year. Besides moving dates to Memorial Day weekend from it’s normal time in January, it has also moved to the Phoenix Convention Center in downtown. The entire previous location fits into the current exhibitor hall of the Convention Center. Besides the Convention Center, there will also be programming at the Hyatt Recency Hotel Across the street.

Our teams current involvement will be with the Zombie events, the Beauty Pageant, Zombie Walk, and Brain Eating Contests. We will also be involved in two panels. One on our team’s history and joining, and one on Ghostbusters in general.

We will have a booth set up in the exhibitor hall to host raffles for Ghostbuters items to benefit the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation because we will be doing this event the week after the con:

American Diabetes Association. The Ecto will only be at the Con for the Zombie Walk.

Friday:

**The Zombie Phenomenon Panel **

12:00pm - 1:00pm (CC152)

Jane Austen Zombies, Marvel Zombies, DC’s Black Lanterns, Zombie Cops, World War Z, and Zombie Walks! Zombies seem to be everywhere! Our panelists look at the Zombie Phenomenon and if it is truly a sign of the forthcoming Zombie Apocalypse.

Zombie Walk

7:00 PM - 7:30 PM Starting and Ending at Hyatt Regency Hotel 122 North 2nd Street Phoenix, AZ 85004

Bring out your dead to the 3rd Annual Phoenix Comicon Zombie Walk! New location, new walk route! Lead by the AZ Ghostbusters; join us as we lurch through the streets of Downtown Phoenix! The walk will be the prequel to the Zombie Beauty Pageant.

For the Zombie Walk we will be leading the zombies with the Ecto-AZ with a police ■■■■■■ to run full lights and sirens on public roads downtown.

Zombie Beauty Pageant

7:30 PM - 9:00 PM (Ballroom A & B Combined)

It’s back from the dead and looking for a new Queen to crown…it’s the Zombie Beauty Pageant! All ladies 16 years and over are invited to compete to win fabulous prizes and above all the honor of the Pageant Queen. A one minute act will be required from contestants who will also be challenged on their Zombie trivia. Guest judges and gruesome half time entertainment will thrill the crowds! It’s gory, it’s monstrous… it’s the Zombie Beauty Pageant!

For the pageant we will be acting as security and as zombie chaperones. During an intermission we will hand out Twinkies and Stay-Puft Marshmallow Bags

**Wil Wheaton Rock Band **

10:00pm - 2:00 AM (Ballroom A & B Combined)

It all started right here at Phoenix Comicon! Wil Wheaton brings the event back home and rocks out with fans on our main stage at the Hyatt. You know you wanna be a rockstar- this is your chance!

We will have a reserved time to play “Ghostbusters” with Wil.

Ghostbusters Trivia Contest Panel **

12:00PM - 1:00pm (CC163)

What was Dana Barrett’s apartment number? How much did the Ecto-1 cost? The Arizona Ghostbusters will offer up trivia questions covering the movies, cartoons, games, and comics. Join in the fun and win awesome Ghostbusters prizes.

Brain-Eating Contest**

4:30 PM - 5:30 PM (CC153)

Brains aren’t just for thinking…they are for EATING! Join us as we challenge the appetites of attendees to a Jell-O show down as they vie for awesome prizes by swallowing as much gelatinous cerebrum as possible in a gray matter showdown! Participants will be chosen from the audience by their knowledge of zombie trivia.

How do you guys come up with such AWESOME stuff? I love the ectoplasm specimen collector idea. Your team has way too much fun!

Thanks. The specimen collecting petri dishes will be part of a scavenger hunt we’ll be trying out. At select booths we’ll be putting slime for kids to locate. If they bring some back we’ll give them a prize item.
