I had a great time at the con! This was my first one, and I was greeted with outstanding friendship and enthusiasm by the Arizona Ghostbusters team! I feel like I’ve definitely made some new friends, and I’m already looking forward to the next event.
I have to share this awesome photo of the team huddle taken just before the Zombie Walk on Friday night.
(Photo taken by and used with permission from Hob Gadling.)
Remember, guys… if you get any inquiries from organizations in the Tucson area (or other Southeast Arizona) who are looking for Ghostbusters, feel free to send them my way. I’ll do my best to help them out however I can.
Also, I will be watching the AZGB calendar and my calendar to see if I have any openings when the team has any needs.
Great to meet you too Tart. Thanks for the pic. I always love the team meeting shots. We’ll definitely let you know when we have something coming up and if anyone down there is looking for busters.
Just found out we collected $700 for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
I just received an email from Matt indidcating that we raised over $700 for Cystic Fibrosis, which is a huge outcome compared to years past. It truly shows how far we have come and how many appreciate what we do.
Great additions of pics Jeff and Cory.
Well Jeff, this is the best I have found so far of me and a fellow member (Chuck Goodman) in action with a shameless promortion of one of our favorite shows.
Indy would have been an interesting addition to Lost.
I actually took the Catwoman photo for the whole Carpathian kitten aspect, then I realized it looked like she was stealing Vigo, then you put a whole other spin on it Slimeguy.
Spotted this on Wheaton’s blog yesterday: “We made our way past the General Lee, KITT, and an amazing Ecto 1 that had the world’s littlest Ghostbuster posing in front of it for a picture.”
Just found this vid of the kids brain eating contest round from the first Day:
Sally definitely should suit up! Stina already said she wanted to dye her hair red.. then we’re have 3 red headed girls on the AZ Ghostbusters.
I met up with one of the Silent Auction winners yesterday who had her grandson at the con. He was the one in a picture with Vigo and Phil shooting the painting (his name is Conner, I believe.). She gushed about how amazing everyone was at the convention and how nice all of the AZ Ghostbusters were. Her grandson couldn’t sleep the night after he met us because he was so excited, and his mom requested that grandma not bring over the silent auction basket until the next day because he would be up all night playing with it.
The kids are the** best **part of the whole thing, right next to being able to raise a great amount of money for charity.
Seeing the kids dressed up as Ghostbusters and being excited about seeing us is definitely my favorite part of suiting up and getting out in the public eye. Not sure if anyone got a picture of her, but there was one adorable little girl with a proton gun made up with duplo blocks. I got to witness her and her brother argue over who was Peter Venkman.
It’s funny. You work hard, you make a name for yourself, you do some good for the community and crank out some really cool results and at the end of the day, your paycheck comes in the form of that comment. `:-\ Been there, done that. I assume Wheaton didn’t mean anything harmful by it. Personally I’d bite him in the kneecap for that one, but that’s me.
Another group meeting before the Zombie walk, this one taken from a different angle by David. I liked that there was a little 'Buster in the picture listening in.
Wil was awesome to hang out with as always. I’m very happy he gave the Ecto a shout out. He doesn’t need to write a blog about us. He’s given us nods before from past cons and I thought this nod was awesome as well which is why I put it here. Believe me, he definitely gives fans alot more respect than many celebrities do. I had a feeling he’d share his proton pack building story when we came on stage for Rock Band.
Speaking of Wil, Chuck and I(originally) were going to present Wil with a little momento for his support. In the end when I was unavailable, Chuck and Keith presented one of our member hats to him at his booth on Sunday. Good job you guys!
I don’t think Wil was referring to any of the AZ Ghostbusters with that comment. There were all sorts of people taking pictures by the Ecto that day as well as many little children dressed up as Ghostbusters. I’m sure that’s what he was talking about.
Yeah Wil’s talking about one of the kids, I was never next to it so never would have thought it would be mistaken for me being the littlest buster, but I am close.
Hi guys! For those of you who don’t know me, I’m Joel from the Rebel Legion (former CO). I just wanted to drop in and say I am finally on your guys’ message boards!
I won’t lie, I’m totally a noob here so if this isn’t the best place to post this, just tell me where to go. I just think that what you guys do is awesome. Growing up in the 80’s I loved Star Wars and Ghostbusters. When it came to costuming I went the Star Wars route but am highly considering working on a Ghostbuster after seeing how awesome the AZ Ghostbusters has become.
I’ve met a couple of you at events but still don’t know everyone. I look forward to chatting with you all.
