Thats unreal man. I’ve been thinking about making a foam pack for use as a lighter ‘stunt pack’, but didn’t think I could get it detailed enough. Just proved me wrong there. Freakin awesome.
thanks. took a lot of work. I`d change a lot of things to increase smoothness of the parts. but this will have to do as I have many other projects I want to tackle…
How does a foam pack weigh 23 pounds? Even with the hard coat, a bag of concrete only weighs about 10 pounds and you don’t need that much material. I’d expect this to weigh about 8 pounds, 15 at the most with batteries and extraneous parts.
unless my scale in the washroom is off (maybe it is), that’s the weight with everything on it (gun too). with all the pvc/ mdf accessories it adds up. I was hoping it would be much lighter as well.
I’m extremelly impressed with how great it looks. The weight is disappointing, but that MDF is HEAVY. I bet if you’d built it on an aluminum motherboard it’d weight under 18 pounds.
Anyway, great work! That’s a fantastic Scratchbuild!
If you just put the pack on the scale, it probably is wrong. Have you tried weighing yourself, then weighing yourself with the pack, and then subtracting the difference? I think bathroom scales don’t measure small weights very well. I’d be interested to know, because your figure does seem too high.
when I start putting in the electronics I’ll measure the components separately (gun/mdf board with alice pack/ upper and lower pack). should give a better indication.
