Either way, I’m sure once the movie is out, I’ll be discussing it with other people on other forums. The negativity here is doing nothing but sour my opinion on the fandom.
In their defence, they’re only teaser posters. I imagine the complete cast poster will probably be more exciting. Not Avengers poster-exciting, but with a greater sense of dynamism, if nothing else.
Great looking posters that made me more excited about the reboot. And any easter egg or likewise that can be linked to the old movies, I’ll enjoy as just that and not “happy accidents” from the filmmakers.
whipped up some wallpapers if anyone is interested. best I can do until the super HD logos and photos are available. approx 6 mb each, 1920x1080 resolution
Ghostbuster #1: The scaredy-cat. Oh no, she’s going to get into some crazy hijinks with the other girls, but not before she voices her concerns about her safety first! Clumsy? You betcha! Tripping over things and accidentally hitting switches that cause the ghosts to escape, she finds it difficult to live down her mistakes. She eventually conquers her fears at the end of the title and saves the day in a moment of rare bravery!
Ghostbuster #2: The rebellious one. Oh, gee-willikers how this girl likes to get into trouble. From her crazy hair to her love for corporate rock, this girl’s demeanor can intimidate even the meanest female. Her hilarious insults at the ghosts she is battling keeps the viewers on the brink of laughter as her sassy attitude becomes contagious and people fall in love with her character. She eventually comes to terms that she should maybe “chill out” a little bit and accept her new-found friendship with the girls. Famous quotes include, “You’re alright, kid,” and “I guess I won’t kill you after all.”
Ghostbuster #3: The star of the movie! Her work-place crush barely notices her, her boss is always walking all over her. Normal average girl becomes big-screen heroine when she shows that any lowly girl can grow to become a leader and keep her rag-tag bunch of ladies in line when it comes to busting some major ghost-booty. She earns the trust of her colleagues and ends the movie saving the man of her dreams, and winning over his heart.
Ghostbuster #4: Big Bertha! The meanest of the bunch for sure! With her trademarked “mean mug” she can stop you mid-sentence with her notorious opposition to following whatever order you try and give her! Better not make her mad, or she’ll give you a poundin’ for sure! Big Bertha’s character develops towards the end of the film by exploring her softer side and becoming one with her fellow ghostbusters by showing she can use her strength to save the day! Also, she beats up a guy in the movie. Girl power!
**Secretary: **big, hunky, but less than intelligent. Ghostbuster #1 starts developing a crush on him after realizing he’s more than just muscles and being dumb. Also, his name is Kevin.
That’s a mighty big claim seeing as none of us have seen any decent footage of him in action (and dissections of single-moment photographed facial expressions are not a solid basis for that conclusion). Hang fire until the trailer goes online before branding him Jar-Jar Binks bad (The Junior Ghostbusters currently hold that title).
A man who’s an apologist for Jar-Jar Binks probably doesn’t have much of an opinion worth paying attention to.
Why is everybody saying that Jar-Jar destroyed Star Wars? If that was the case, products would have disappeared, and nobody would care for Episode VII…
Plus, the whole franchise isn’t ruined… go to your DVD/Bluray/Digital Media collections… is the original movie still there? Will you still enjoy it when you watch it? Is your replica props still untarnished and usable? I bet for damn sure the answer to those questions is a resounding “Yes”… So, guess what? Franchise is still intact…
I think that one of the best way to empower female artists in this franchise is to let a woman direct the movie. They went for a male director in the first place. Feig should have stepped aside saying: “you know what? I have this idea about a team of female gbs. Let a woman direct this!”
I’ll be honest, Ben, I wasn’t terribly thrilled with Jar Jar myself when the prequels first came along…it wasn’t until I went to the 3D re-release that my opinion changed. The screening I was in had quite a few under 12s present, and they were laughing their heads off at Jar Jar’s antics, and I suddenly understood that they are his target audience. He wasn’t meant for ‘us’ (the older fans, the rabid Fanboys), he was meant for the younger audience - and they ■■■■■■ love him, so on that basis I think Jar Jar acquits himself. (And I had a chuckle or two at his antics myself at that screening).
