can any one help me. ive got crix sound board v1.3 heavy props 2011. i have pealed 3,5 aux cord from another end and separated the ground wires from +/-. then i hook it up to sound board. and ive got portable speakers with integrated amp that are 4ohm 25wats , (connect that with aux end) i get lot of distortion from the speakers? any help. have try with one speaker also and with different amp and speakers. is my sound board or chip busted?
The sound chip outputs amplified sound already.
You will need to make sure your speakers accept a pre-amped input.
Also I believe the sound chip outputs at 8 ohm, not 4.
So i check it out and your right it can power one 0.5w with a 8 ohm speaker but what if i want more volume. I want it loud.
What i do then? How do i amp it? And on forum shop it says that it Requires a 3V DC ~ 4.5V DC voltage input (separate batteries are a must!)..On frequently asked questions there is a one question that i dont understand.. can i use 9v battery.. and it says that voltage requirements of this sound board is (9V-14V)..
So witch one is it ? 3V ~ 4.5V or 9V-14V?
Don’t get Crix’ sound board confused with the GBFans sound board (9v-14v).
You must have a separate battery for a Crxi board.
Hey there. If you’re using the HeavyProps sound module and getting distortion no matter what the amp is, but it sounds fine (but really quiet) without an amp attached, you need the Pre-Amp and battery distribution module devised by Spongeface here in GBFans. The Crix module puts out a different pulse width modulation than the amp recieves, which is why you get this crunchy static and lack of volume control. The Pre-Amp module changes the PWM to a proper one, and also makes it so you only need one battery (it distributes the juice to both the Crix module and the amp).
I have a crix board, and at first I had the same restricted and crunchy static noise. I added a pot between it and the amp, fixed it right up.
My only remaining issue is, once I turn on the power to the sound system, the board automatically plays the “stream off” sound. It’s cool because it let’s.me know if I accidentally flipped the switch while transporting the pack, but it’s just weird that is does it.
