I’m looking for a decent way to store my proton pack so it won’t get damaged. I had the idea of getting a Rubbermaid storage container and lining it with foam. I found the correct size @ the local Wal Mart for $12.
I was also wondering what you guys do. Any ideas?
p.s. I’ll post pics of whatever I do plus pics of all my other props soon.
I built custom ones out of scrap plywood for Ryan’s packs for him to take back to LA and to Dragon con. I used parts from a shipping crate we got at work and they were tossing.
Ours hang on the wall proudly waiting for our next event! Since we have traps and other gear now, we are considering expanding our GB display area, so the megabloks playset, and traps can be displayed along with our packs, and “trophies”.. goodies we’ve collected from contests, dragoncon, ect.
Why hide a lot of work? Plus that real dust buildup helps make them look more realistic..
Yes I agree. Since the baby our house is so small that we have hardly no room in the house, but I found a little spot next to my guest room bedroom dresser where I can display everything. I just meant if he had to store it this could be a cheap way to store/ transport.
I was trying to figure out what to do with mine as well couldn’t figure out a good way to display it and didn’t want to pack it up and store it. Then I remembered I had a mannequin I had bought a while back (craigslist $50). It will look really nice standing next to my shelf with other Ghostbuster stuff.
You know, I’ve got a mannequin at home as well and was thinking the other day about putting my gear on it. My only issues are that my suit would be very baggy on it (which I could remedy by pinning it up in the back) and that the pack would be too heavy and topple the mannequin over. Mine is one that has a rod that goes through it’s calf and a small circle pad to keep it upright.
yes in this shot it is leaning against the wall. it has a place for a rod like you mentioned but I don’t have a stand. I am planning on building a stand for it so it will support the weight of the pack and stand freely.
Our captain displays his spare equipemnt on a mannequin as well, but I have to say when you’re walking through the house in the dark it scares you to death.
