Question about pack & gun lights and sounds

Hi

I have installed my own sound system in my pack using an mp3 player which I have had built into my gun handle so I can select the sound I need at the right time (start up, fireing, hum, shut down).

The question I have is what is the right sequence for the lights and sound? I have mine set up so that I can turn on the pack, then turn on the gun and start up sound at the same time. and for turn off, pack lights off, and gun lights off and shutdown sound at the same time.

I have seen some on youtube which show pack and gun lights come on together with sound. I know people have different set ups to others but just wondering what the right way should be if there is one.

As I recall they were not consistant in the movies with sounds and switches. Continuity took a bit of a slip there…

For example, Egon turning on Ray’s pack from a switch that doesn’t exist in the Elevator on their first job…and at any other time that same sound would come from the gun using the “activate” switch.

I think on this particular setup, you’re allowed to pick whatever works for you.

I know some folks attached the startup sound to both a switch on the pack and to their guns. Considering the continuity questions we all have from the movies that would probably be the most screen accurate way to go.

Personally My pack lights come on with a switch on the pack, so in a way that’s screen accurate because I can “switch me on” with a pack switch to turn on my sequencing lights.n But I have on sound attached to that switch.

Then on my gun, one switch (I think the activate button on the trigger box) activates the solid on lights on the gun (vent, ear light, and one under the clippard) as well as plays the pack power up sound.

When I fire the gun(intensify push and hold button) it plays the thrower sound for as long as I hold the button down, and when I release that button it plays the alternate pack power down sound.

Then when I turn off the “activate” button on my gun the steady on gun lights go out and it plays the pack power down sound.

The pack would still be lit up at that point.

Then I’d turn off the light sequencer switch on the pack, no sound would play ( I kinda wish it would but I didn’t need further wiring challenges).

I’ve also got sounds attached to the two switches on the back of the gunbox and on 3 hidden switches under my pack cyclotron to play music and sound effects.

Those last 3 switches are definately not screen accurate, but you can’t really see em if you’re not looking for em and Iove scaring the crap out of people with the deafening roar my pack makes from one of em!
