ok im getting a bit sick of opening and closing my pack to replace batterys its like 15 min every time
do any of you guys use a rechargable set up with recharge charge port?
so thers no opening closing etc… man it would make life so much easier
what battery set up do you use and how?
its just an upgrade im thinking of doing.. ideally id like a complete battery set or 3 (2 for lights and 1 for sound) that i can just plug in to the existing 9v battery connector
i have my battery external. it is thin. lasts decently long (made it 5 hours at a con no problem). i run the cord out a hole in the motherboard. not the most accurate but gets the job done and noone can see it anyways…
After reading that I picked up a similar battery pack. I have my battery mounted on the bottom of my ALICE frame on the outside. It’s not noticabe when I’m wearing the pack, but you can certainly put it inside with your charge cord to the outside so it’s even less visible. The reason I have mine outside is so I can reach the switch to kill the power.
Also, I have that one battery powering both my light kits and my sound amp. The replica props chip reqires its own batteries, though. If you look through the Replica Props Sound Board DIY thread you’ll find diagrams on how to wire everything.
It works fine for my Exoray lights. His kits are designed to take power from a certain range of voltages. I don’t recall what that is (9v-24v I think), but 12v is within that range.
No. Like I sad, I use that one battery for all thee things: my gun lights, pack lights and sound amp. But the sound chip itself needs it’s own battery source. It can’t handle 12v. I’d stick with 4.5v (three AAs) for that.

Well, yeah. You could. But I’ve found that with just ONE battery pack my run time has been sufficient. I usually walk around with just my pack lights on to conserve power, and only turn on the gun lights (and with those, the sound) when I’m posing or showing off.
Last convention I went to, the battery lasted me a day an a half before dying. If you’re really worried about conserving power, you can always flip the switch on the battery to kill power during idle times, which is something I do also.
With separate batteries you run the risk of them running out of power at different times. For example - your pack lights will probably outlast the gun and/or sound battery. Or you could wind up with sound and no lights or lights and no sound. Not to mention the extra cost of multiple batteries.
To me, keeping it simple is key. But ultimately it’s your choice.
I use a similar one of these battery packs as well and the run time is amazing. I have the 9800mAh version, but its still 12V. I use it to just power my lights and have a seperate one for my amps(I have 2, because I have 2 sound chips). I did something similar to what BSJohnson did. Mine is mounted to the Motherboard as well, I just painted it black so it blends better and used industrial strength velcro to fasten it to the mobo. If I get a chance I’ll post a pic later on
Which equals longer battery life. I should have mentioned that, thanks kind. I’m not certain what the mAh is on mine. I think it’s 5600. With Socko’s 9800mAh it’s no wonder his battery lasts a while.
