Replicaprops.com Sound Boards ~ Anyone know if they're good

I am in the process of putting the finishing touches on my Proton Pack, namely the lights and sounds. I would like to buy the light kits from Proptronix (on this site), and a sound board from www.replicaprops.com ,but has anyone ever bought a sound board from him? And if so, what would I have to do to make the sounds and lights work together with the push of a button or flip of a switch? Thanks.

If you would have used the SEARCH BOX at the top of the page you would have found this Sound Board DIY (GBFans Chip, Replica Props, Crix, etc) - Tutorials & Guides - GBFans.com

Well EXCUSE ME for lacking the knowledge that you possess oh great one.

Still, thanks for the link.

their sound chip sucks, as shown here:

[/sarcasm]

It’s probably the best sound option out there currently, it requires a little bit more work but the options you have with the chip are what make it great.. It sounds fantastic once installed in a pack.

Chris

Thanks alot for the awsome video! I can only hope my pack turns out half as cool as yours.

Sounds good to me. Thank you very much! Would you happen to know of a good subwoofer I could use with this sound board?

someone mentioned one at some point. im too lazy to search for it right now. i am thinking any 4 ohm would work but i could be wrong.

I used two 4 inch Pioneer car speakers 120w 4ohm and they sound amazing. A subwoofer would probably be to large for this application but probably would work. With two 4 inch speakers of similar rating you would be fine. Make sure you read Mburkits tutorial for the chip in the tutuorial and guides section of the forum. You’ll want the 7 watt amp to boost the power and sound of the chip but also very easy to install.

Chris

I used a single 3-way 6x9 speaker.

You can see how I put it together using Propreplicas on the thread I link at my signature down there…

I’ve also got an 8 minute demo of my pack which lets you see how it sounds (as good as streamed video can) on that thread with the pics.

Robwergen is VERY helpful to those who request help with his products.

I used a riesen 4 ohm in car speaker set with my replica props sound chip. Its sounds ace, i will eventually install a amplifer kit but as it is, my sounds are pretty loud

Yup Im here if you have any questions.

Oops, my bad, Rob. Misspelled your name…

No worries

Oh, howdy! First off, I’m not good at anything electronical at all. I really want to know how to hook up the light and sound kits to the right switches and buttons; like “start up” sound and lights with the activate switch and so on… I’ve read some tutorials, but there are alot of things that I have trouble understanding. If you have any tips or instructions, I’d love to look them over! Sorry for being a noob here. Thanks in advance!

Sure I can help you. First there is the basic set up video

There is also the online diagram

I can answer any specific questions you have.

As far as compatible light kits, there is going to be some big news in about 2 weeks. can you say plug and play?

Rob you would change things as soon as I finally make up my mind wouldnt you?

You mean about the light kit compatibility?

Yup. Oh well. I got my proptronix pack and gun kit, gonna get this all wired up this weekend. Im assuming I need the DPDT switches like with exorays?

Yes, the dpdt prevents current crossover.
