I didn’t find any real pics of the head straps from the ecto googles in ghostbusters 1. I want to built accurate ones but I don’t see those to get inspired from.

The pic on top is from the montage. You see the back of Ray’s head for a second while Peter is saying the “no job is too big..” lines
What brand elastic did you go with and how well does it hold up?

The SU straps and noslliT’s are both elastic straps. I’ve stayed away from elastic thus far because it’s not really a design suited to the long-term longevity of a prop, but I was wondering if he had found something that was up to the task, because there’s bound to be something out there somewhere.
think nylon is very similar to the accurate one. And is better.
It looks like a thicker elastic like the stuff used on shoulder pads in football. You should be able to get it in a roll at a sporting goods store. That stuff is made to hold up well.
I remember you mentioning something like that, but I didn’t think that’d be something a store would carry. Guess I’ll go looking when I get home.
I picked it up awhile ago in a fabric/ fastener store. It’s not that cheap thin ■■■■ that curls on the ends.
I don’t have the specifics on what width it was off the cuff but I can post here when I find it.
you can get nylon strap at joanns or on ebay, ive gotten 50-100 yards of varying size of nylon strap for less than 20 shipped.
Nobody talk about the little bolt and screws which I’m not sure how they are made. Where can we get those?

They’re snaps. The original military straps snapped onto the frames at that point.
When I made black straps from elastic, I took my real military frames with me to JoAnn Fabric and asked the sales lady about the correct size of snaps.
I bought a pack and a little inexpensive tamping tool and attached the snaps to the elastic with just a hammer.
