Uhm.. so I bought a shell off eBay and something doesn’t seem right about it. Now I do build props from time to time (this is my first major GB one) and uh… pretty sure the shell is supposed to lay 100% flat. Can I get confirmation on this?
Also wanna note something else odd: one of the clippard parts is actually moulded onto the shell o_O

I got a partial build off of eBay from kenobiz, it was supposed to have the bumper too but it’s missing (although we’ve been talking over the phone and they said they’d mail it out)

Certainly! I had to originally dispute it because they didn’t ship it out and paypal closed the case on it after it arrived so I’m SOL as far as any type of return or refund.
Things to note:
One of the lens’ broke and fell out during shipping, but I had a spare.
Booster frame was 100% broken on arrival, had to fix it myself (they used wood so it wasn’t an issue).
One of the couplers wasn’t mounted right.. had to fix it.

My GBFans shell didn’t lay flat. I had to sand down the corners where there was a little too much fiberglass still. Its better but not perfect. I sitll have a 1/16" gap along the top in the middle. Not a big deal though.

Yeah id seen that pack on eBay since before Xmas too - he apparently had multiple failed sales. The shell should lay flat. Ive personally learned that some.minute warpage is almost to be expected.

You can see the upper right lens is gone and the booster is (pardon my language) ■■■■■■.
Lens is fixed, cable is properly mounted, and partial bondo fix on booster is underway.

Is that a screw underneath directly under where the ribbon cable is in that photo?

If I were you, replace the fittings with either SMCs, some real clippard barbs, and the correct tubing from the straights. Its not too bad. Maybe strip it down and gice it a new coat of paint.
That is totally a screw directly underneath the ribbon cable, it’s holding the cylinder thing on that’s beside the ribbon.
The filler tube you mean.
Thats an easy fix. Take it off and use a proper bolt into it from inside the shell.

You mentioned the Clippard valve is molded in. Are you positive its not a resin clippard not bolted on?

My eyes are failing me but that screw looks like a potentiometer.
Can you flip to the inside of the shell and show us some more internal details and we can try and help ya a bit?
