I’m originally from New Jersey, but recently moved to LA. My mom currently has my pack and I’d like to get it shipped out to me for Halloween… but I have no idea how to do this in a manner which a.) won’t destroy the pack, and b.) won’t cost an arm and a leg. Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated as I know the shipping of proton packs isn’t uncommon.
USPS has a affrdable shipping option, and size and weight are non issues.
Pack the sucker in a TON of packing peanut padding, and mark fragile all over the place.
Odds are there will still be some minor shipping damage, unless your build it really solid.
I think $12 ships alomost anything in the continental US… just keep the box as small as possible so you don;t exceed the size requirements, listed on the usps website.
I just shipped a pack across the country today and it cost around $37 priority. The pack is large enough that it incurs oversize charges.
Thats for priority mail though… they also have a bulk mail that is about $11.. I was suprised how cheap it was when someone wanted me to ship them something I thought oversized a few weeks ago.
Personally, I’d go with the Priority shipping. It’s 2 days delivered pretty much anywhere in the country. Plus, the less time they have your package in their possession, the better.
Just be sure to wrap it REALLLY well. Remove anything you can that could possibly break off, and put the pieces inside a ziplock bag with the package. If you want to know how tough to pack it, picture all postal workers as soccer players (football for those over the pond

Yeah put extra layers of bubble wrap around the ion arm, etc. if you can.
I’m not gonna be able to pack it myself, as its in Jersey and I’m in LA. I’ll pay for the priority, I’d rather get it quick and take less chances, but I’m quite nervous about it being destroyed as it’s quite heavy and I feel one good drop would be all it takes.
For Priority mail and local zones you won’t get hit with a ‘balloon’ size box surcharge, for further away zones you will get charged for double the weight…
You will get hit with the ‘balloon’ charge from coast to coast, expect to pay in the $60 range for Priority Mail… The price depends on the Zones and varies drastically between different locations it’s not a flat rate for everyone any longer…
