I’m trying to figure out how to provide a switched light for my trap. Should I use a 12volt dc system? I don’t know much about designing circuits but i’m good at soldering. Also any websites that sell or have instructions. I’d also like to have a switched flashing or sequence circuit info for the proton pack type set up. Any help?[/b]
If you are just using an LED, I would soldier a resister on it and use a 9v battery.
What size resistor would i need to get to 9volts? I’m also having a hard time finding a dc switch and LED that looks like the movie version.
Thanks
It depends on what voltage LED you’d be using. If you find that out, then I can tell you… As far as an accurate LED, you probably won’t find one. I’m going to put a red cap (I’ll either find one or make one) on a clear LED. And as far as an accurate switch, just keep looking, I haven’t found one yet either. But if I do, I’ll let you know.
W could use a clear LED and use the cap from something else. Take a look at this 12volt lamp. Is this too squat?
The Radioshack lamp is pretty dinky. Though it would actually be pretty well suited for the trap pedal.
For the trap itself you want something more like:

The latter would be my choice since it is $0.99 and is 12 VDC.
