So, the 360 patch is finally coming soon

Such hostility. I don’t get it. I thought kevinj was completely civil throughout this whole thread. Where the name-calling and profanity comes from, I do not know.

And besides, if I paid for something, being told that A, B, C and D were a part of it, I’d expect to get A, B, C and D. It’s not called “self entitlement”, it’s called “getting what you paid for.”

No matter where you go, if you buy something that doesn’t work or include everything advertised, you’re going to want it fixed or demand a refund. Buy a cell phone that the camera doesn’t work? Fix or refund. Get a bag of fresh carrots and a few are rotten? Fix (as in, exchange) or refund. Buy a game console and it crashes? Fix or refund. What’s so wrong with that?

I do agree that there are certain levels of complaining where self entitlement comes into play. Such as wanting a $700 cell phone for free because “that’s what cell phone companies do, and I’m a paying customer, damnit!” or “if you’re gonna charge $60 for this game, it better include some bonus content and cool toys!” But that’s a far cry from “you sold me this item under these pretenses, but now it doesn’t operate/include the promises that were made to me.”

As it is, I just today heard about this patch and I’m very grateful that it’s finally being released. Yes, I’ve been ■■■■■■ that I couldn’t obtain the last few achievements I wanted. Because I paid for a game that was supposed to include them and it failed to deliver. Not because I was expecting something that wasn’t already there. I appreciate skanker coming in and keeping us updated and for all his hard work involved with this game. But I don’t feel bad in saying that I wish the company had released this sooner.

And for the record, achievements are an awesome addition to games because they give the games replayability. It’s a great way to get that much more fun and enjoyment out of the game.

And BF2 Bad Company is right now, a perfect example of re-playability for me

I guess the main hangup I have is with all of the other bugs… mostly in multiplayer… that cause the game to crash or become unwinnable. Leaving those types of bugs unfixed is typically a big no-no.

It took this long and this much noise just to get the achievements fixed, which were the most publicly known glitches, but not necessarily the most critical. So yeah, I’m pretty happy the patch is being pushed out, but it’s kind of bittersweet since our experience up until now doesn’t bode well for the other bugs getting fixed.

Well, here’s hoping.

I’m happy to say that in my multiplayer history, glitched games have honestly been few. Still, they do occur and it can really dampen the game playing experience.

All things considered though, it’s still a lot of fun and I’ll keep playing as long as there’s an online community.

I finally asked ‘why November?’ and it all makes sense now.

It’s a boring reason and just has to do with the fall update eliminating size limits on patches.

Cool, hopefully that means a significant update. Can’t wait, I hope it brings back some of the fanbase.

I fear it might be a tad too late as most players are already moving onto newer games and gamestop is getting more and more trade ins of GB. Its already hard to find games going on right now, by november it could become another steel battalion. :frowning:

That’s the just nature of most games. It’s not exclusive to Steel Battalion. The only games that are continuously played online are competitive first person shooters like Modern Warfare or Halo.

I’m a huge fan of Blur, but even after just 2 weeks of it’s release, it was very difficult to fill online games.

Hey, GB is one of the games I go to regularly when I’m not playing something else. Granted, it’s because I’m a huge fan of the franchise, but still. Maybe a few new characters to select, maps, or modes would spur some life into GB’s online mode? Hint hint nudge nudge, tell them to get on that, Skanker. >_> Sadly that sorta thing’s probably out of anyones hands by now. Maybe if we wish reeeeally hard, and clap our hands, we’ll get a GB MMO game someday.

And i’m very happy to have been part of a game that people can still pick up and play a year later.

That’s more than I can say about most of the other games I worked on with the exception of BloodRayne 2.

Hopefully an update will get some people to at least check it out to see what’s new. Its sad not finding any games going on or start a new game and have no one there to join in.

Meanwhile I’ll press on with BC2 for the next 2 weeks till I get my free copy of REACH! woot!

Any update on this? We’re getting close to October and I haven’t heard any news on the patch in quite a while.

what kind of news would there be for a patch?

Well an official date would be good, plus some answers to the questions some players have would be good.

My big concern is if the Xbox patch will have a similar problem to the PS3 patch where players who satisfied the requirements for the achievement Payday! pre-patch are unable to unlock it post-patch.

All in all I’m just really looking forward to this as Ghostbusters was the first game I got (primary reason for buying an Xbox) and it makes me sad that I haven’t 1000Ged it yet.

Skankerzero. I’m late to this thread but I’m thrilled for the news! Absolutely thrilled! I was just thinking today “I really feel like playing GBtvg today.”

Now if only…

Has the patch came yet?

Good question. I’d tell you but my system red-ringed.

I’m still baffled as to why the River of Slime and Roof Top temple MP levels wern’t included, they look like so much fun.

If this patch is still attached to the XboxLive fall update then it has not been released yet. There is still no confirmed date for the XboxLive patch (still just Fall 2010).

If the game has it’s own patch that triggers when you start it up then I don’t know as I haven’t been on Ghostbusters in a few weeks.

No kidding! :whatever:
