Sony Wants WHO to play the GB's main antagonist?!?

That is the weirdest part about the article. Every article I’ve read has said the same thing Murray doesn’t want to be involved in the third movie. Unless Sony has found a contractual way to force him to take part, I can’t see it happening.

Secondly, would it not look just a bit odd to see him playing a Walter Peck type role? A former Ghostbuster becoming a state employee, it almost seems traitorous. Not only that, but I still see him as Dr. Venkman, to see Murray play any other character in the Ghostbuster universe just wouldn’t sit well with me.

If Aykroyd or Hudson choose to take part in the film, I would rather see them play the characters they played originally as well. That would be a decent nod the original movies.

AMEN!!!

Did you guys catch the Super Bowl half-time show last night? Fan-tastic!!!

Bill Murray has been crapping on the GB franchise for years.

Holding up GB3…wearing the GB gear in Zombieland and at that awards show…

His interviews on the subject…

Hes been tweaking fans of GB for a long time.

Dang I read that article too late, has more information missing then the formula for Captain America’s super soldier serum. I think Murray is controlling ghosts and scaring the author.

All I can say about the whole thing is at least it sounds like you could take, what I am guessing is supposed to be Murray’s character of a debunker, as almost exactly what his attitude was towards being a Ghostbuster in the first place, all he wants is fame, wealth, and tail. As he said “the franchise rights alone will make us rich beyond our wildest dreams” all he ever wanted.

And on that note do you think they made back the money to pay off Ray’s property?

They don’t lock threads, don’t you know that?

Okay, read the article and didn’t see any names for he main antagonist that was linked to the original films, but I do remember a rumor about Murray being in the movie as a paranormal debunker. I can understand the anger for that, the man refuses to do GB 3 but will do the remake? From what I understand Murray doesn’t do sequels. I can only think of one that he’s done and that’s GB2. I believe actors view film roles different than the fans. Maybe to him Ghostbusters was just another job. If you believe MTV’s Pop up video the only reason why he did GB was so the company would finance another film he was planning on doing (or something like that).

A semi-SNL Ghostbusters would be pretty cool (referring to Wiig and McKinnon). But how could Bill Murray play a character that isn’t a Ghostbuster or Ghostbuster-related character. That last thing this franchise and community needs is an all-girl Ghostbusters reboot.

The whole idea stinks. Now if you will excuse me I’m going to step inside this police public call box and arrest myself.

Don’t do it, venkman30 - I’ll do it for you!

On a completely unrelated note, I grew up in the same neighborhood as Frankie the Weatherman who is your avatar. Small world?
