Sound Module for MT500

I have a MT500 coming in the mail but I want to add a sound module to it to play some clips from GB1. I saw Hyperdyne’s product but that’s a bit on the expensive side. Anyone else try this out?

I was planning on sticking an MP3 player in mine with a radioshack white amp for a speaker. Just load some movie clips onto it along with a whole bunch of “blank” sound files of various lengths and put it on shuffle. It probably wouldn’t be that hard to wire the amp’s volume knob to one of the radio’s knobs if it gets annoying. I haven’t gotten around to it yet though so all I can offer is the idea.

I bought Hyperdyne’s kit right before Thanksgiving. Very simple to install. A little expensive, but I like it a lot.

I have hyperdyne’s kit too. I like it.

Yeah, you totally didn’t sound like a former TV reporter in that video. . . guess its time to get you to start doing professional voice overs for the whole GBFans.com community!

Nice job and nice video.

Thanks! Lol! Yeah, old habits are hard to break.

That is a great setup, nice job Bp.

That is really cool! Nice setup.

Wow that powercell LED window is huge !

I really never paid attention to that size. That is pretty big.

Since this thread seems to be back alive…

Has anyone tried just sticking an MP3 playing in their MT500? I was considering that but don’t actually own an MP3 player. So before making the investment I was wondering if it works…

One of our guys has an MP3 player in his…and it works great. He sent me the file that he uses and since I have an old MP3 player that will fit perfectly, I’m about to do the same.
