Source for a plastic Ion Knob

I searched around and couldn’t find any posts about this, nor did I see this ebay user’s name on the blacklist so I thought I toss this out there as an FYI as sources for Ion Knobs are few and far between.

This is a ion knob machined out of plastic as described in the auction. Comes painted and with a bolt. Bought it off ebay and had in hand in 3 days.

Now, I’ve never seen a good, machined aluminum one in person to compare with (and I’m sure aluminum would trump this), but for $25 shipped it looks pretty good to me and will work for me.

So if you need an Ion Knob and don’t mind plastic, you can find it on ebay.

Isn’t that shock mount?

I’ve seen it called both a shock mount and an ion knob, but they’re the same thing.

Ahh okay then! “Whatta’ da hella’ do I know eh?” (in my best mario voice)

Is it solid or hollow?

Seems to be solid, the grooves from the lathe machine are visible on the underside.

I had one of these to begin with, the paint strips way to easily, but overall it’s not to bad

It’s solid.

I was thinking of maybe giving it like a clear coat to help protect the paint from chipping off over time.
