good evening ladies and gentle men, we are this evenings entertainment ! i only have one question, who would like to strap on they’re well made and respective proton throwers and take some video footage for me ? you see. im trying to create my own proton stream method, all i need is one of you talented folks to take video of yourselves wearing your pack and if possible uniforms , and applying some acting skill, firing off into a lateral or diagonal direction , outside or in a large area ,preferably not too bright ( to preserve the eeriness of the idea) camera set at least 10 to 15 feet away (or as far as possible without losing vision of the actor or equipment, but within identifiable range ), if this is too much to ask please ignore this post
thank you and have a nice day
The proton stream effect had a lot of real elements to it. You’re going to need flashing lights in orange, yellow, and white. You’ll also need pyrotechnics, and high-powered air cannons.
One idea I had was to have a long foam tube connected to the barrel of the thrower, and then rig it up with a series of LED lights all around the surface. Then you have someone off-camera holding the other end of the foam tube, and then have them move it around in the same manner as a proton stream, sort of like a puppeteer. With the lights on the tube going, you can get light interacting with the set as if the proton stream is a real light source, and it also allows you to go in later and animate the proton stream over the foam tube. It’ll also give you something to use as reference, and the proton stream will actually look like it’s moving in 3 dimensions.
This would only work for close-up shots, and you couldn’t use this method when you first activate the streams.
ooooook, but i was talking about digital effects
