Studio creation pack shell question

Considering im working on a budget for my pack would the studio creations shell be worth getting?

Absolutely. It takes a bit of work to join the two halves together and you do have to add the plates to the side but once that’s done, you’ve got the makings of a great pack. There are some great Studio Creations shell builds here. Alan Hawkins, Riggs45 - look for their build threads. You would never be able to tell that their packs were based on an $85 shell.

Absolutely something to look at. There have been some AWESOME pack builds out there that use that shell (Alan Hawkins comes to mind). They are slightly smaller in size to the standard fiberglass shells but most of the parts can be used either way. Check out some of the builds for those shells (just use the search on the top right of the page).

I love the sc shell. Was very easy to work with for a first pack. I have a build thread on here for it

Agreed. The sc shell is great and a great price for a first pack build.

I think for a first pack it’s a great option. It has its downsides (little bit smaller, needs to be backed in fiberglass, soft features.) But it also has perks. Namely it’s cheaper and lighter.

No matter what, it’s a great way to get into this hobby.

I think backig in glassnin an option more than a necessity. I didnt glass mine, and its pretty damn rigid. I mean granted theres a thin spot here and there. But nothing that couldnt be handled with a quarter in pice of mdf. But I think for the novice fiber glass is not needed. But to each, his own right. Either way you go youll be happy with the sc shell.
