I hear about it. I hate that the skinny kid from King Kong is playing Ben Grimm. I hate the Sue and Johnny are going to be Step Siblings. I hate that everything about it sounds like the complete opposite of what happened in the comics. I really wish Fox would’ve just given the rights back to Marvel. And now they’re saying the characters have disabilities and don’t like their powers. That would be fine for Thing but not Johnny, Sue, and Reed. I just started reading FF comics and am offended at how bad most non comics fans think they’re because of all the bad movies they’ve had. If Marvel got them back we’d get to have a great Fantastic Four movie.
Marvel, aka Disney?
Personally, I think Disney is doing an excellent job with both Marvel and Lucasarts, some hit and misses here and there, but still great… but Fox is definitely almost all miss! The new Fantastic Four is starting off absolutely horrible… Thank God they did good with Days of Future Past…
Fox honestly wouldn’t know a good idea if it hit them in the face, these days.
I have zero interest in this FF movie. They killed that from the word go with the descriptions they gave about the movie.
It also doesn’t help that the movie will be in a “found footage” style. It was reported today that they wrapped filming (already) granted they just started in May. It has disaster written all over it.
Btw, here’s a pic of The Thing:
Rock Biter from The Neverending Story much?
Well, I wasn’t a fan of the other FF movies. This pic of the Thing I like.
But, found footage, again? They all resent powers?
This is why I don’t go to the movies anymore…
That’s actually a much better Thing then Chiklis’ rubber suit. Chiklis was a fantastic Ben Grimm but his insistence that the Thing be a rubber suit was a horrible idea.
I don’t remember the comics being any better than these terrible films.
I just heard some horrible news about this movie.
Also it is coming out the same day as the Goosebumps movie.
I’m keeping an open mind. I haven’t read much of the comics, nor watched the previous movies. Since Marvel doesn’t own the property, it does sound like the property is being messed with a bunch. And it also sounds really gritty, which I’m not a fan of. I’m going to watch it though. I love Michael B. Jordan as an actor so we’ll see. He’s got a bunch of charisma and I’m certain he’ll nail Johnny Storm.
It’s going to take a lot more than charisma to overcome Alhambra the bad decisions about this movies plot and character reimagining. They should have n’t even bothered to put the FF name on it, and just called it something else.
I’m a long time fan of the FF for almost 50 years now, and this is less an homage or love letter to long time fans, and is more like a STFU slap in the face.
That said, at least The Thing finally look decent, if a little dark looking. Thing had a funny side as well though, and I don’t see that very do able with this look.
Understood. It helps when you listen to a long time fan’s opinion. If so far nothing looks promising, it sucks. I’m gonna give it a shot and watch it when it comes out.
