I’m on my team. Go me.
Still, there are more people saying it will happen in 2012 than Bill, and every other article is basing theirs on that one line where he calls it crock, yet ignores the fact that he likes ■■■■■■■ with people and the SXSW bit. Note how even when the interviewer says things like “if not GHostbusters” he doesn’t say anything either way. I gathered from this and every other Murray interview that to him, it’s crock because everyone is saying it’s happening when it isn’t… YET. The movie, according to Ramis, Hudson, Ayckroyd, Reitman, Weaver and whoever else, is in prepro. The script is in possibly its third draft and people are talking. The studio wants it to happen, Bill clearly wants it to if it’s to his liking, but outside of that NOTHIN is happening. As far as I’m concerned, this movie looks like it has an extremely strong possibility of happening in the very near future, but at the same time, I’m not pinning my hopes and dreams on it yet.
AHAHAHAHAHAHAAAA!!
WELCOME TO ■■■■■■■ 1999!
It did all seem vaguely familiar.
I on team Hurry and Make Up Your F’ng Mind Already. If it is going to get made announce it, and if its not please say so. Like many have said we have been through this ■■■■ before. Either make it or bury Ghostbusters 3 for good.
Team Ghostbusters.
Biased towards Aykroyd, but that’s a personal bias.
Aykroyd has said he has had the deepest respect for Murray as an artist, and I know what he means.
I respect that as well, and am always pleased to see a performer who doesn’t just smile at the camera at an interview and spout empty praise on a movie they clearly didn’t enjoy.
Though find his arguments about ‘Garfield’ feeble at best, I don’t thinks he’s that naive. I’d hope not!
Has he said similar about ‘Larger than Life’ and "Charlie’s Angels’?
I think he wants in if it GB3 looks good enough, it’s a slice he owns and can get in it if looks decent.
Maybe there’s too much emotional baggage attached to the GB franchise for him.
But otherwise, on a personal level, I think Murray is just being himself . ~shrug~
Team Ghostbusters.
And I think that this “interview” is a little old…like Proton Chargin said.
You know what. I’m not even going to think about it. I first got online in 1997 and the first thing I started reading about was GB3 rumors on Bill Emikow’s website. It’s ■■■■■■■ 2010. Shit ain’t happening.
I don’t know if I should post this here but to me Bill murray will do ghostbusters 3 when the story is written by: Dan Aykroyd, Harold ramis AND Bill Murray!!
I’ve seen Year one and have to admit it wasn’t that good!
Give Bill what he wants and GB3 will happen!
why does everything have to have a team to be on?
Murray never said he wouldn’t do it, in the same interview he says after speaking to fans he might as well just do it, and given he only enjoys acting once he is doing it,
This is how publicity works it drums up discussion
so the more we talk the more publicity it gets, this is the aim here
do you really think given Dan and Bill supposedly regularly see/talk to each other they would both contradict each other without having told each other first?
just enjoy the increased press publicity and hope to god those horrible Year One writers are removed from the project before they make it sub standard…or make a part for Jack Black! (unless he’s a 1 shot only ghost that’s busted with no lines)
i remember that this winter Ivan said that ALL THE RIGHT HOLDERS approved the basic story. So, i think that GB3 is alive and well
they are only tweaking it a little bit.
And…why nobody ever thinked about interviewing Gene & Lee?
I wonder if we’ll hear an announcement at the NYCC.. would be more fitting to announce it in NY
I’m inclined to side with Murray. As much as I want it to happen, I don’t think it will. The movie has been in development heck for far too long for me to have hope. Still, it’s a bit of light showing through that ANY of them think there is hope now, so that’s something.
i think that this is the first time GB3 is seriously considered by both the creators and the studios.
As Reitman said: “there has never been a REAL interest in resurrect the franchise until now..”
Then again, so was Freddy vs Jason, Aliens Vs Predator, Predators, King Kong, etc. I don’t think you can REALLY rule anything out these days. Not in Hollywood anyway…
True, true. Wish you hadn’t mentioned Aliens Vs. Predator though, that’s an example of be careful what you wish for.
And Freddy Versus Jason just had me wanting them to go full on crazy with a Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash film.
Team Ernie Hudson!!!
Winston The Movie for 2012!!!
