Just wondering if anyone has assembled any of the packs from the comics? What I’m really looking for are dimensions for the “Thunder and Lightning” pack Ron built in Volume 2 of the ongoing. My group recently got a new member (long time girlfriend of one of the guys) and she loves the look of that pack.

I’ve worked on both the “Thunder and Lightning” pack and a revised Refined Prototype Pack (the big one Egon uses that fires boson darts). A quick search under those terms should bring up the build threads. The compact pack is pretty much done (I still need to do some finishing work and wire up the sound) but the refined prototype pack is still pretty far from done.
from what i’ve read about the history of the proton pack in the early scripts there were supposedly two neutrona wands strapped to their wrists before they toyed with the SWAT idea
Okay, so, talked this over with our Rookie and she is VERY much in favor of this pack. My question is, what the hell am I gonna mount this to?! An ALICE frame is too big and would be awkward… should I add the straps directly to the pack body or whip together a custom PVC frame?

If you look closely at your reference pics, you can see the the straps are mounted to the pack itself.
Despite my pack not being an accurate one, it still has the overall look.

I dig that design and I will be using the grip from it, but it just looks way too uncomfortable

This is going to be my first pack build that is scratch built. if it turns out half as good as yours I’ll be thrilled. She wants lights, so figuring that out will be a joy. lol
