I’ve lurked for a long time until recently. I just thought it was somewhat imporant to get this out-
There has been a lot of news online lately (and I mean ALOT…my phone updates me with all new news and blogs regarding GB3) about Ernie Hudson “blaming” Bill Murray for the movie not happening based off a recent short interview. Ernie Hudson was in no way blaming Bill for anything. Im not sure how much this matters, really, but I wanted to draw attention to it and kind of tell everyone to squash this rumor when you can. It’s not going to help things to pit the cast against each other.
I think that it was an old interview…some months old…because just today Dan was interviewed with J:Timberlake about Yogi Bear and said positive things about GB3
While Justin’s film is on a hiatus, Dan is busy preparing for the latest sequel in the ‘Ghostbusters’ film franchise. “Great script, and [the writers] have written a part for Bill Murray that is a comic role of a lifetime,” Dan says of his co-star, who played Dr. Peter Venkman in the movies. “We’ve got the material. It’s in the bag. Now it’s just a matter of doing what you do when you produce a movie.”
oh, and Will Ferrel would like to be in GB3 because of his admiration for Bill Murray.
I didnt check the date of the interview. I was just concerned because the news of it is going around quite heavily. My phone updates me with something about every half hour or so. It drives me nuts.
sometimes actor are interviewed months BEFORE the article is released…so maybe the date on hte site is very recent but Ernie got interviewed some months ago
Im putting ZERO faith in any of these write ups about Ernie Hudson saying no one has contacted him about GB3. If for NO other reason than every article I’ve seen keeps misspelling “Zeddemore” – Of course no offers have been made – everyone is waiting to see if Bill Murray will say ‘ok’ first.
Although my post above only reads “Meh” it originally had a quote from an e-mail, earlier that same day, from Linda Hudson who told me what the deal was. Looking back I thought better and changed it to “meh” because it seems obvious everyone would rather believe a pre-conceived notion than the truth.
Short version = Ernie isn’t saying that it isn’t going to happen and was kind of tired of the internet twittering about him nixing the project. He was just saying he hadn’t seen anything made official or greenlit.
We now return you to your regularly scheduled internet filled with rumors and pre-conceived notions.
