So about 22.5" inches by 11.25 “.. but it’s not the same dimensions through out. if I was making a frame I think I’d keep around 10.5 to 19” inches
Just got one at a store and want to customize it…
I basically plan on replacing ribbon cable, weathering, getting new lights for the pack and replacing the wand with Matty’s… since I’m a total noob, I hope to get tips from people doing these changes that are more proficient in the electronics and attachments! Cannot wait!
Thanks for the info! Still waiting for mine as well, but for reference the Ruby’s foam pack last year measured about 18" x 11". So this one is a big improvement in size, in addition to everything else.
Has anyone mounted this to an Alice pack yet? Do you think it works better on an ALICE pack or on a slightly smaller military style backpack?
GrownAssNerd on youtube did a paint mod and attached it to an alice pack.
I followed a mod tutorial that has you drill holes on the top sides to zip tie it to an Alice frame and zip tie the frame to the bottom hoops for the original straps. That’s what I’ve done so far and it’s pretty sturdy. I do plan on making a motherboard for it eventually
I was personally going to use pvc pipes and make a smaller Alice frame.
I just did that for my son’s pack. The frame ended up being about 9x15 inches in pvc. I think I’ll be removing the mid brace as I don’t think it’s really doing much stability wise and it’s adding some weight. It’s surprisingly comfortable for my son and it’s not too bad for me. If I was doing it for the spirit pack I would make it bigger for my back. Once painted black it should look nice
