I was fiddling with this for a little while, but I don’t think I’m done with it yet. Partly, the design was created with my wife in mind who was willing to come out for GB events so long as she didn’t “have to wear anything heavy” on her back. The Dana/Ellen crossover ancestor thing was also in my mind and this is what same of it. It’s roughly modeled on an M4-1A pulse rifle combined with pack aesthetics. The cyclotron flashes and a string of blue leds strobe around the “clip”.
After reading some of the other posts on GBfans, I am a little worried that this design goes a bit too “military”, but I’m subjectively hoping I’ve landed on a happy medium prototype design. I still have to distress the black off the chrome layer underneath as well as add the “slime” in the translucent white tube, but for now, I give you the ULHL: Unlicensed Harsh Language.
Holy ■■■■ that is awesome, I love the cyclotron for a stock, what did you make it out of? The the ribbon cable nod with the strap, and Ion arm cap are great touches. Is that a slime grenade launcher on bottom?
The cross over possibilities are great, make a flight suit that has the colors of the ones they wore in alien with gb patches would look really cool, make ecto goggles attached to a a helmet to parody aliens gear, a motion tracker with pke arms… lots of fun possibilities although I know none of those would be easy or necessarily comfortable.
Thanks, brother. The gun was some kind of ps3 peripheral. The rest is a combination of wood, sheet metal, and automotime lights. The original plan was to build an M16 “flame thrower/slime blower” strapped to the side (like in Aliens), but that notion de-volved into the mini slime gun on the bottom/side.
