Since Feig-busters is a re-boot, who remakes, redoes or covers the Ray Parker, Jr. Ghostbusters Theme Song? Or does Feig get someone to come up with a new one too.
I figure they’ll keep the RPJ version. It’s as iconic as the logo, everyone knows it even if they’ve never seen the film.
I was surprised they kept the exact same logo, seeing as how everything else is radically different. And I’ll be even more surprised if they keep the theme song, especially the RPJ version. I think the closest they might come is a Beyonce cover. But they’re probably better off doing something completely original. I mean, even GB2 mixed it up with a sweet Run DMC song, and something like the PumPs GB3 song would be more appropriate for today….
They made tweaks to the no ghost logo. It ws discussed in the Feig-Ecto thread.
I thought of that yesterday, what about the song. I hope they really don’t use the classic but if they do I guess its fine.
As long as it’s not this…
Gag, I just threw up a little…
If they make ear floss I need some after hearing that.
Yeah, but it’s not drastically different. The circle and slash are thinner(which I’ve actually seen in some original promotional material form '84), and a small tweak to the ghost’s arm.
Honestly, I’ll be surprised if they actually have someone do a cover.
I’d be okay with something kind of like the Kill Paris remix, but it definitely wouldn’t be timeless like the RPJ original.
Then again, I really don’t think any of this will be timeless.
Well, there’s that whole legal debacle with Huey Lewis that might prompt them to create a new song.
As long as it’s not Taylor Swift singing the song, with lyrics written that talk about how Katie Perry took away her Plasma Pack from her last 10 boyfriends…
Maybe he will want to “write the theme tune, sing the theme tune”…
Its a bit of a stretch for the joke on this one, but we’ll see who gets it.
I’ve noticed that the PuMPS Ghostbusters 3 song that was made for the video game has been recently taken down…
I believe they weren’t supposed to release it in the first place. That was the mix we did in our studio with all the game sound effects and dialog. When they gave us the mp3, we were told not to distribute it by order of Sony / Columbia Pictures.
Haha…wow. The whole “Let’s leave off the last little bit of some of the words” thing is killing me.
“Who you gonna call? Ghostbuster”
“I ain’t afraid of no Gho”
I command they send Taylor Swift to find the original theme song written by Pat Thrall and Glenn Hughes. It’s destiny.
