Well I made this thread, Because I am frustrated with Pay Pal…I got my Proton Pack lenses today off on ebay from crix_morshully . So I was ready to buy off of MMM, and buy the Motherboard from him. Well I been on a 2 week Vacation, I put least $600.00 in my bank account. I came home, logged on Pay Pal, try to pay MMM, Nothing…On my menu on Pay Pal it read’s..*“From now on, money you receive will be temporarily held in a pending balance. To learn more, please read our Payment Holds Policy” * I have money in my bank, this is frustrating. Most of all, it feels like its the end of the road on my pack! All I need is the light combo from Jupiter Electronics, The Clippard on my Pack, Proton Shock Mount…The site tells me to use another Card, yet my Debit Card has a good chunk of money in it!
If anyone knows what I can do without connecting to my bank account to Pay Pal let me know! Thanks!
Feel free to rant about your Pay Pal experience here!
Use greendot,I heard alot of people are doing it.That’s the only other way to add funds to your account without having a checking account linked to you paypal account.
The transmission of the Ecto got repaired. My garage guy paid for it and I used PayPal to pay him back. The amount was well into the thousands.
It’s been about a week or two and just yesterday PayPal e-mailed me and said that I’m being looked into ( by them as an internal protection for themselves ) for tax fraud. The government isn’t looking into it, they are. Maybe they think they need to do this because if they don’t the government will move in and take action on PayPal, I don’t know. All I know is that from where I’m standing, I’m paying the money I owe to another guy ( who already paid for my repairs and the subsequent taxes involved ) and listing it as “personal” not “auction/goods/services”, etc. Paypal maintains that this is a payment for “services” and therefore I’m in violation of their agreement.
Paypal? Enjoy it up there on your highhorse. Enjoy it over there on your lonely little island-of-no-one-but-you because at this rate everyone’s going to be jumping ship for the newest, latest greatest thing and maybe greendot is it.
This is why I ask that sellers accept some form of alternative payment.

I sold a used textbook over eBay. I used delivery confirmation, but the buyer claimed he never got it and disputed it with paypal. I provided the delivery confirmation and did everything paypal asked. I even made some calls and tracked down the mother-effing actual delivery person to verify that it was delivered. Paypal still took the money back and gave it back to the buyer, who I suspect now has the book and the money.
Just let me say I freaking hate pay pal.
Sold something on eBay and holding they are holding the money.
Freaking eBay sucks ass.
When you have a monopoly on the market like they do, you can do whatever you want.
