My apologies if this has already been brought up and dismissed but I haven’t been around the boards in a while. And I’ve just gotten a new job where I can’t surf as much as I used to.
Anyway,
In a few of the vids I’ve seen the cyclotron on the pack looks like it opens up and all the internals shift around. Almost like each one of the cyclo lights is a power supply and it’s loading up the new one. Have you guys seen it? I know some things will be different in the game adaptation and I’ve already noticed some of the other differences but that one surprised me! Also I was wondering who is going to be the first to build the game style pack??? I guess when you get down to it I’m a sucker for the toys. I’m actually kind of surprised there isn’t a forum just for the game props.
when the cyclotrons op out in the videos there oing that cause the pack over heated and it’s venting steam and heat a way to keep you from constantly firing of the proton pack
The new article in OXM says the player can activate the change by hitting the bumper(i assume a button on the 360 controller?)which is used to vent heat from the pack avoiding an overheating condition.No more guessing,it IS for temp. management of the pack.
The bumpers are the small shoulder buttons on the 360 controller. There’s the big analog triggers, and then there are smaller buttons just in front of them, and those are called the bumper buttons.
Nothing quite like an overheated pack to make for a bad day… No wonder Egon and Ray hire newbs to test the equipment. LOL
That plot premise is comedic in itself. alot like when they were in Dana’s apartment in the first film, and Ray asked where the stairs go, and Venkman was like “They go up” and he is all ready to lead them up sthe stairs until lightning strikes, and pete is like “uh… you Go ahead”
of course they’d hire some one to do it why blow up someone important.
besides the idea of being the weapon tester is funny cause i mean come on thats gotta be both the best job and worst job at the same time (positive- your a GB, negative- you’re carrying a unlicensed nuclear accelerator that has had untested and probably dangerous equipment added to it and your job is to tirn it on use it and not blow up)
The pack is designed to ‘vent steam’ because being able to run a constant stream would not make for good gameplay. That would be like player a FPS and never running out of bullets or having to reload.
This is fact and comes directly from the developers.
there are more differences also. the H.G.A. sticker has been replaced by a green strobe LED and various other things are new around the gearbox, crank generator and PPD
Ok, i was watching the ace new spoiler on the front page and the first thing i noticed was the the new game packs, the bumper and cyclotron lights lift out of the pack, the clyclotron pan lifts slightly and vents steam or gas out of it. Check out the video at around 52 seconds in, i’m not the only one seeing this right?
Same here. Honestly, if GB3 is made, I hope nothing changes on the packs. I hope the packs still only shoot the proton streams; none of this slime tether/dark matter/etc. stuff.
