Anybody have any ideas what to use to attach the gun to the pack. That is the only thing I am missing before my pack is complete. I just don’t want to go through the hassel of fabricating the brackets. Any alternatives and where to get them?
Some folks will sell you a set of brackets identical to those from the movies. Do a Google search to see who still sells them. (This will be your most expensive option.) A lot of people have used the brackets that Dixie Cup dispensers use. These can be had for pretty cheap (about $3 if I remember) on eBay or just do a Google search. Personally, I used the eyepiece track from an old VHS camcorder because it was free and worked great.
hey, do ya’ll know if there’s a scale drawing of the male and female gunhook parts? ![]()
Oh sure.. thats easy I have sent you a pm with the info your looking for..
Stefan’s plans for the gunblock have the measurements and angles for the female part.
No, that would be the male part that’s on the gunblock. But yeah, Stefan’s plans have the measurements for it.
Thanks for the suggestions everybody. I am sure I will be able to come up with something suitable. When everything gets finished I will post pics.
The dixie cup holder didn’t last too long. It started bending and the gun was sliding right through it. I had to bend it back into place a few times. But I guess that’s what happens when everyone kept yanking it out.
!!!oh man, I’ve had a few people try to yank the gun off, but the gun hook actually sticks sometimes, a fact of which i’m quite happy, so they’re weren’t able. Drunk guy grabbed it and started pulling saying oh man, can I see this? can I see this? Can I see this? Can I see this? I was like, hang on HANG ON
So I pulled it off and handed it to him and he almost pulled the damn wand off…AHHH crazies!!!
Yeah, I had similar experiences on Halloween, too. Drunks and proton packs don’t mix. There is something that just makes them want to grab and tug on every part you shouldn’t do that to. For example I had a friend over to my place, she got very, very drunk and tried to pick my pack up by the injection tubes under the power cell…could have killed her.
I found a nice bracket system at Home Depot that works out great. Thanks for all the great suggestions everybody. I will post some pics when it gets finished.
Good stuff, make sure you give info about how ya put it all together.
