I was looking at one of the threads here, and they discussed that the original proton packs went through many revisions until they decided on one. It makes us wonder where the hell is all this? Where are the original GB sites so we can know more about our favorite paranormal eliminators and stop asking the same questions over and over again?

The original GB sites? You mean the ones that went up right after the first movie came out? 
they are out there among the sea of tripod errors and 404 Not Founds.
You are looking at a pretty old one.
But as mentioned a year or so ago.. I want to build up a history of all these sites. Lets get a list together.. put down all the well known sites to make a list.

One of the best “accurate” archives was lost when EZboard supposedly was “hacked” and had data corruption network wide, and ironically all backups they should have had disappeared or where never restored, erasing tons and years of information…
Has anyone bothered to check the Internet Archive for some of this lost information?

How many of you remember Eraser99’s GBprop site or okemosweb?
Since we’re on the subject, and Eraser99 just came up, I’d like to take the opportunity to relate the following story, and unlike a certain former presidential candidate, I am being 100% truthful. You can ask the oldest forum members if you don’t believe me.
In 1996, THE website for GB stuff was The Ghostbusters Homepage. I used to post there quite a bit.
A part of The GB Homepage was devoted to the equipment. Back then, Norm Gagnon was the ONLY (or maybe one of the only) ones who actually endeavored to create a proton pack. It was there that the world was exposed to the very first proton pack plans (they were inaccurate compared to what we’ve got today, but boy was it exciting).
I remember a blurb on that page that went something like this: “If done correctly, you will emerge from your proton lab with something like this:”, and it had a picture of Norm’s first proton pack.
So, I started building a new website, and I christened it “The Proton Lab”. Before I posted the URL, I asked the entire forum if they’d like to see a website based solely on Ghostbusters Props, to gauge interest. Some guy, who might even still be around and whose name I definitely do not remember (might have been bill, but not bill embkow…) said, in so many words, that it was a stupid idea.
Literally the next day, Eraser99 had his eponymous page up, with a message that said something like, “Gee, that’s a great idea! Here’s my prop page”. I posted my link as well, and from then on, a mini-war took place.
You see, back in those days, almost no one built proton packs, and the few that did weren’t that accurate, so much so that everyone’s looked different. Eraser99 and I both had an open submission blurb where we begged people to email us pictures of their props, so that our respective sites would grow.
I don’t want to open old wounds, but Eraser99 did steal a significant amount of the pics people sent to me, without asking. I requested that he take them down, and he was nice enough about it. Both of our sites were successful at the time. I remember Dan Elektro speaking highly of the Proton Lab, and the link might even still be on Proton Charging. Things went on back and forth with me and Eraser99 for quite some time, until I stupidly put a guestbook on my site that was hacked in pretty much 1.2 milliseconds.
I gave it up sometime after that, mostly because geocities kept shrinking the maximum bandwith/day, but I am 100% honest and serious about this story; there is no way I lack self esteem to the point in which I feel the need to bolster my ego by making up outrageous stories on niche fan forums. Let it be a lesson to you all - The Proton Lab missed being remembered the way Eraser99’s page is to this day, just because I hesitated and listened to bad advice.

I used to have a website called The DeMilitarized Zone. I don’t think I had much on it, come to think of it. I just liked the idea of building a webpage from a blank Notepad file! I’ve probably still got it on CD somewhere.
Norm was a good guy, I wish he was still around on the forums. But I think he started a family and just moved away from GB fandom. He even gave me his old flightsuit for free. I saw his original proton pack once, too. That thing would’ve been HEAVY. He had a red rotating beacon in the cyclotron to make the 4-lights rotate in sequence.
I also remember Bill (not Bill Emkow) who was probably the first to make an Ecto-1. I think it was a '67 Caddy ambulance.
