I recently got a Matty wand and I’m hoping to swap out the hook it comes with for a real one since Matty’s only comes with the female end (which is odd IMO) but I’m having two problems. The first is that I can’t find them for sale at any of the usual hardware stores and two, I don’t even know if I have the correct name for it. I’ve searched the forums here and seen it described as either a “V hook” or alternateively a “dixie hook” but I’ve gone to Lowes, Home Depot and Ace Hardware and no one recognizes either name and if I Google it this is what I get for results:

Unfortunately you won’t find an appropriate fitting piece for the V-Hook at any DIY store or specialist.
It’s possible that back in the mid to late 1980s, the piece we refer to as the “V-Hook” on the original Proton Pack props and Traps may have been a commercial item (however it’s possible it could have been custom made). Sadly however, the piece is not sold in any physical stores or specialists, meaning that some members of the fan community have had to resort to custom making them, whilst others have used the less accurate Dixie Hooks.
There are a few sellers in the marketplace who make V-Hooks, however I don’t know if any of them will fit with the hook piece made by Mattel.
