is it possible to get the V-hooks for the proton pack/ghost trap from a hardware store or something?
You cannont get the exact V-Hooks from a hardware store but you can get some decent alternatives. This topic has been discussed many times in this forum and people have listed what they have used in place of an actual V-Hook. If you really want to get a V-hook you can sometimes find them on E-bay and in the for sale section here.
what are decent alternatives that u could find at lowes,walmart,etc.ive looked through the forums and only found a couple but ive never seen them in a store.my pack is done pretty much and ive hit a snag with the hook system.lol
Well, these hooks work the same, and look good. They’re what I’m going to use for my pack. You can fine them at Home Depot. Here are some pics. I took.

I couldnt find hooks like that at Home Depot but I did find them at Wal-Mart and OSH. Could be that stores in different regions carry different items… maybe.
Since I couldn’t find the dixie cup holders in any of my local hardware stores and the flush mounters that Ty mentioned didn’t work very well for my pack (wand kept getting knocked off the pack in crowded bars) this year I replaced it with a “Large 3M Self Adhesive Hook” that I found at Target in the home improvement section. It looks like a solid piece but the hook part actually slides off of a wall mount that can be mounted to the pack (don’t use the adhesive strips that came with it I reccomend using construction adhesive) and after removing the actual hook the other end can be secured to the wand and when they are attached the whole thing is held together with a plastic clip. It’s big enough and strong enough to keep the wand securely mounted to the pack but the clip is weak enough that you can just tug the wand off of the pack when it comes time to pose for pictures. Although getting it back on is a pain without taking off the pack first because of the rail guide on the mount.
