Yet Another Modded Spirit Pack

Hello everyone, I have been modding my Spirit pack, mostly on a budget and with limited tools. It doesn’t have a light kit (yet). I have a yellow wire, but I’m not sure I want to add it. I’m afraid I’ll mess it up. If anyone can tell me how they replaced it, I’d be grateful.

Thoughts?

Frome what I’ve seen you cut the blue tube off and then use a drillbit to remove the bits left in the connectors.

I personally was thinking of just getting some yellow model paint and carefully painting the blue tube yellow.

Yea, Honestly I actually considered that option too. I may still change it out

I used a drill bit to get the rest of the hoses. Just don’t get Hulk strength and go through the other side

The yellow wire was super easy to remove. I pulled it out of the legris elbow with a pair of needle nosed pliers, then drilled the remainder out (also allowed me to push fit the yellow one in), and then cut off the other end of the resistor and drilled the remainder out. If you use a drill bit slightly smaller than the diameter of the old tube the drill bit it tends to “bite” into the tube and stick to the drill bit and come out quite cleanly. I’d personally recommend doing it, makes it look a lot nicer to my mind.

If you want some other easy bits to do, paint the legris elbows grey rather than silver, grind down the fake screws on the clippard valve and replace with small hex head bolts, think I used M3s, and add hex head bolts to the HGA. I used M6s for this, and drilled out the “nubs” that were there in place of where the screws were too, but saw someone else just mount them over the top of these. Looking good so far though

You may wish to repaint the crank knob (the knob on the box above the red warning label) - the crank knob was made of plastic, rather than metal, so wouldn’t reveal silver when chipped.

Hmm, I may do that. Should the knob be black, or greyish?

With your current setup, it would make more sense for it to be black. (Gb2)

What Larry said.
