"Yo!"..........

Hello Everyone! I’ve always been a fan of the Ghostbusters, ever since I saw it in the theatres 30 years ago. Always wanted a proton pack, ghost trap & all the ecoutrements of being a paranormal investigator - this year, for whatever reason, I’ve finally decided to act on this desire just in time for Halloween. Perhaps it’s because of the 30th anniversary, or maybe it’s because I feel like I’m getting old, or perhaps it’s because my kids have fallen in love with the Ghostbusters as well & I finally have a great reason to dress up like one of the boys in Grey! Anyways, I’ve been lurking on this site (like many others!) for a number of years, and have finally built up the courage to say hi! I live in Toronto, ON & I’m heartened to see such an awesome community supporting itself online through these forums. I’ve learned a ton about prop building through the many artists and craftspeople on this site and have begun my own construction of a scratch built proton pack, ecto goggles, and traps. My youngest and I are dressing up as Ghostbusters this Halloween & I hope to share some pictures about the process and finished products in the days to come.

Here’s a little sample of the “budget pack” I’ve crafted for my 4 year old: (with thanks to Gareee & n0c00lgamertag for the inspiration)

Thank you guys for being such an invaluable resource of knowledge and advice on all things Ghostbusters related!

Very cool!

Thanks! I’ve added straps and foam padding to the other side of it. Not pictured is the hose & neutrona wand. The hose will attach to the round hole on the left side. He’s pretty stoked about it.

Can we expect to see Halloween photos? I know that i would love to see them.

Absolutely! That’s part of the process isn’t it? Showing how happy everyone is with their gear?
