*I was invited to go to this zombiecon in FL this year and was asked to dress up for it. Well everyone and their uncle will be zombies and this year’s theme is a futuristic “space” zombie motif. Now you can also dress as survivors or whatever you want just as long as you stay within the theme of things. So my question is this, would a hybrid of a ghostbuster and a zombiebuster be too farfetched? We have worked on designs for the suit, the tools needed. We are staying away from the normal guns road as we are opting to make proton pack versions of flame throwers.
We have got our hands on some old hockey helmets and currently have them being ready to be re-molded with fiber glass and updated for the sci-fi look. We are also using the base dark blue jump suits, we have a tailor who is adding breathing mesh to the backs since are in FL. We also got lucky and got our hands on a older gen 1 tablet so we are going to ad an active radar screen to it so it looks like our equipment does work, Just little gimmicks here and there.
How do all of you feel about it? What ideas would you throw in? *
Sounds like a good idea. The most important thing is to just have fun with it. Our team The Sacramento Ghosbusters have been to several zombie themed events. Seeing that Sacramento is the home of the original Zombie Walk (Wikipedia, look it up lol!) Most people just love seeing Ghostbusters, so Im sure just being Ghostbusters will be enough. Modifying or fabricating new props can be pricey, but if your going to go all out then go for it!! Dirt bike armor makes for a great accessory. Remember if a proton wand can burn up walls and destroy a fancy hotel ballroom, imagine what it will do to rotting zombie fleash! KaBOOM! zombie guts all over the place!
Have you thought about doing just the standard Ghostbuster who has gotten in over his head? The usual gear but filthy and torn and maybe some found items (like hockey pads or something) and a ■■■■■■ ballbat or a shotgun. Maybe there wouldn’t be much of a need to modify the found items except to make it look ■■■■■■ and used.
Or some possible new gear:
Riot-type helmets or shields. Maybe some poles with the lasso-things on the end like dog catchers use.
Also maybe a custom patch? A green, ■■■■■■ ghost with “Zombie Response Unit” under it in red.

In the current IDW ongoing, ray used salt to defeat voodoo zombies in New Orleans.
In the comic series “Ghostbusters Infestation” they had a problem with zapping zombies with their proton packs. The zombies would explode but the guts and goo would fly everywhere and potentially infect things close by.
In the video game they fought a lot of animated objects including reanimated corpses, The weapon of choice was a Dark Matter Shock Blast, which functioned like a shotgun attachment on the proton gun.
