1Up.com Previews Wii and 360 versions of the game

On Tuesday the review team of 1Up.com got their hands on the Wii and 360 copies of Ghostbusters: The Video Game, giving their feedback of the experience and answering questions online during the stream. Highlights include a quick jaunt around the Firehouse (including a brief snippet of Vigo’s dialogue) and busting Slimer in the Sedgewick ballroom in the Wii version of the game.

-May contain some Spoilers, more videos in the topic.

The full collection, please note that there are sections where the video freezes because of the live stream:

I cannot say just how spoilerly the the second Wii video or all the 360 ones get as I skipped the second part of the Wii preview and didn’t watch the 360 one, just the section they played during the stream test.

Xbox 360: Runs from just before entering the Times Square area up to just before defeating Stay Puft

Wii: Runs from the Sedgewick kitchens up to just before what appears to be the final boss fight with the ghostly chef.

The Wii gameplay pretty much covers everything that was shown in the “stream test.” It’s the kitchen scene leading to the capture of Slimer in the ballroom.

The 360 parts show more of the end of the Stay Puft level leading up to and ending in the middle of the Stay Puft fight.

“That blue and white toy-man-thing is still coming.”

That line from Milano sounded so much better in the interview She sounds like Shatner in this version.

these guys talk WAY too much.

which part can I find Vigo at?

Part 3 of the 360 preview, near the end.

Thanks

Didn’t Vigo’s painting change to the GB’s surrounding Oscar at the end of Ghostbusters 2? How did it change back?

wish they’d shut up so I could hear him! :angryvigo:

Multiple paintings.

The change back will probably be described in-game…but, yeah, these guys talked way too much.

Too many new clips! I caught the first 2 minutes and had to stop watching. I don’t want to be spoiled anymore.

Wonder if I could find a particularly dumb store employee and ask if Ghostbusters the Game is in the back stock room just yet :)..

I’m only watching small parts of these each day.

Looks great tho!!

Is it just me or did that girl seem like she can’t stand the thinner guy?

Am I the only one who can’t hear anything?

If you watch video 2, when they are busting the Opera ghosts, the deck lights on the Ecto are blue… In the CGI cut scene right after, they are red… The NYPD police cars say “POLICE” and not NYPD… Like, doesn’t everyone in the world know that? I’ve said this before, but, NYPD has never used red and blue lights either… Always red and white, geeze!

And did I miss Winston in those Xbox videos or was he just not in them?

He was there when they fought the opera singers and fiery gargoyles. He’s with Egon for the other portion of the video.

Even though it’s a public service, productions still need to seek permission to use the “NYPD” name, logo and font and often productions get refused, it’s why you might see “New York Police” on the cars, or “N.Y.P.D.” on the patrol officer’s shoulder patches instead of “Police Department, City of New York”.

As for Ecto-1’s lights, it’s because the in-game model was updated and there wasn’t time to redo the cinematics, which were done by another company.

A precident was set in Ghostbusters II, where the car taking the guys to Gracie Mansion had red and blue lights… so technically it is established in that universe.

Some mention was made to Winston when they guys were in the Sedgewick Lobby, but it was mostly obscurred by the 1Up.com players talking.

For the first time ever, I feel regretful about indulging in spoilers. I feel like I’ve seen half the game already, and the most of the time, there’s been some dork adding his useless commentary over all the other dialogue.
