A new interview with Bill...

I heard you weren’t happy with plans for Ghostbusters 3.

I haven’t seen the script, so it’s not a matter of being happy or not.

Do you want to do the movie?

I don’t know. It’s all about the script. If the script’s not good, I’m not going to get excited. They’ve been talking about it for a long time. So, you know, I don’t get all excited about it, you know.

Dan Aykroyd told me it’s going to be two guys and two girls.

That sounds like a weekend, but I don’t know if it’s a movie.

What age do you think the new Ghostbusters should be?

Oh, I don’t know. I don’t know what they’re talking about. It’s just talk. No one’s sent me a script. I haven’t seen anything. [Dan Aykroyd] is more out there. He’s a much more active guy than I am. I’m sluggish.

You don’t want to do it?

I mean, I like those guys. But it’s all about if the stuff is good. The stuff’s got to be great.

I find it odd that Bill hasn’t gotten his hands on the script yet, but I’m 100% in his corner. Either it’s an awesome script, or it’s no movie at all.

This same interview was reported more then a month ago, before the announcement that all license holders are on board with the current script, and if I’m not mistaken, Bill is one of the license holders.

Well I don’t think this interview was a month old. It’s from the Mr. Fox New York Premiere which happened yesterday. You are probably thinking about that other interview where he said, the idea is good but he hasn’t seen a script.

I have no clue why they aren’t sending him a script. Maybe it was a bad script, which I could believe coming from the Year One writers. Perhaps Reitman and Aykroyd are working on it before sending it to Bill. I think the more people bug Murray about GB3 while he’s promoting other films, the less likely he’s going to do it. It seems like Sony is doing something terrible behind the scenes. That’s just what I think is happening.

It’s weird how there’s been no announcements. IT’s all coming from people randomly catching these guys doing something else entirely and asking them about the progress.

I combined two posts on the same article a couple of hrs apart if it seems odd to anyone.

I am totally 100% with Bill as well. It’s cool he is looking at it with so much perspective. It does have to be one good script to live up to the hype.

I would get a bit annoyed if I was always asked about it. I think David Letterman was one guy who had enough respect for Bill or knew better than to ask.

Yeah scriptnis the word.

While on sitges film. Festival Ivan told us hes open to anything but nothing is tied, but e didnt appear to be involved actually…

It is odd that everyone seems to be at a different level of confusion. Bill hasn’t seen the script, Aykroyd says he’s read it but then says it’ll “Probably” be two guys and two girls. Weavers talking Venkman as a ghost. Ernie thinks they are shooting in the fall but hasn’t got a script. And Sony isn’t talking at all. I wonder what is actually going on behind the scenes. I’m sure it’s Sony forcing bad ideas on the cast and directors. But I don’t even know how they will afford to pay all the originals to come back plus 4 new guys. It seems like an expensive price tag.

By hiring mostly unknowns for the newer character roles, they’ll be able to offer less cash, making the film more affordable.

It’s all just talk. The actors they are asking aren’t as involved (yet) as some of these interviewers woud like to think they are. These guys are saying what they know and probably mixing in some presumptions too. Who these interviewers should be asking are the writers, and any others that are currently involved in the progression of the film.

I love Bill,it’s not all just about poping out films & makeing money for him and i think he is very loyal to GB’s it means so much to him i think.Thats why the script “HAS TO BE GOOD” we don’t need GB’s III but hell if they make it i’ll go see it :whatever:
