Another alternative for a Belt Gizmo

I am building up a uniform for a friend so he can go to Wizards World all suited up (I’m even whipping him up a pack out of the spare parts we have and some Pepakura pieces I made for him.) for his Belt Gizmo I got these two vintage calculators for $12 shipped to my door.

The smaller one I will use for his daughter board. But the bigger on is a Sound Design 8300 and when you pop it open you get this -

It has to have a bit shaved off of the sides to fit the holster and it’s not PERFECT but overall I think it will make a nice Gizmo.

Looks pretty rad to me, like a little baby gizmo! Even if it isn’t SA, I still like the look of an actual circuit board over a reproduction.

Agreed! I made a scratch built Gizmo and it looks pretty good (I gave it to a buddy for his birthday.) but I scored one of the Craig 4503 calculators that Joe Luna found as a good Gizmo alternative. He went the full route and modified it to look pretty close to the Sanyo board -

I just slapped it in there with a few small mods and think it looks pretty good.

Thanks. Credit should go to Joe Luna too. He came up with this idea. I think the halloween crowd might dig it and it’s a great intro to a more accurate uniform. One day I might stumble on a real Sanyo at a yard sale. Of course flaming monkeys might fly out of my butt also… :wink:

Looks great!

I imagine they didn’t all use 808d’s. There are so many variations and different coloured boards in different scenes to pinpoint a single model that was used.
