Figure I’d throw up some pictures of the latest addition to my personal uniform. The belt gizmo is something that I’ve wanted for a while now as it’s one of the lesser known items that I think really makes the costume pop and have some extra credential. So here she is, images in the spoilers:

I initially wanted to do just a more generic self-contained, ‘box’ gizmo similar to the RGB Gizmo with a scrolling LED sign badge on it but after I couldn’t get the badge to work, I went about shooting blindly for a cheaper vintage calculator that could mimic the real Sanyo. Mine is a Soundesign from around the same time and fits quite nicely. But shorter than the Sanyo but still a nice option and I’m not a huge stickler for screen accuracy so it was a great find for me.
The daughter board is just the innards of a smaller calculator I received in a batch of a few during my search. All in all I’d say there’s about $50 worth of components (leather holder included in that) for a pretty damn good looking gizmo in my opinion. Much better for my budget than an actual vintage Sanyo and better than what I could reproduce with a kit.
