Yeah, was looking to do something more gritty. I definitely don’t have the funds to start a roof rack project yet…but I’d like to get an amber lens lightbar for the front (maybe back too) and then build a “close to original” roof rack with maybe a few custom things.
Spend under $15 and built a few pack racks to toss in the back of the van. Since I’ve only got two seats there’s ever only two of us driving around, so it worked out great. Currently the racks aren’t mounted to the floor or anything, but with the weight of the pack on them they don’t slide around at all.
Got some lettering applied to the van. Still need to work on and finish the roof rack to help tie the whole image together. Right now it’s very bare bones.

Compared to how much for the temporary one you were talking about? I might be willing to go in on a real roof rack.
Like $20 if I make the frame out of wood. I’m probably still going to build the wood one at least for the parade and we can use it as a template for the metal one.

I think it’s an interesting concept, we have swarms of gritty mom and pop shop exterminator vans around here.
It just feels like it needs a little something. Maybe a phony business license # on the door, or some pro ecto-exterminator union stickers on the back bumper.
Just look around at exterminator vans in your area and take note of what they have in common.
