I installed the wall in the back myself, got it out of an old installer van from my father’s work. I’ve got plans to put some paneling up on the walls and install some racks and baskets for holding PKEs, goggles and other gear.

great maybe check out AutoZone or something, too. Don’t say great minds if you mean me–that’s HERESY! : ) Good luck with it! My challenge is to do stuff without permanently changing our car and that can go in for filming and pop out again lest I deal with --the MISSUS!!! : P

This thread is why I have a hard time posting the stuff me and my team are working on. We don’t want to be discouraged before our finished product is out for everyone to see. I’m new to this community but I’ve been been looking at plans from this site for a 'couple of years. I’m not afraid of criticism (I’m sure you people will jump on this) but it seems if it’s not GB1 accurate it’s wrong. I had an idea for an ECTO VAN so I searched it to see what others have done and found this thread. I could’t believe some of the comments on some poor guy who put up some pics of his project. Anything Gbfans related to promote this site or the Ghostbusting hobby shouldn’t be shit on. ECTO PRIUS ECTO HUMMER ECTO Festiva? Who cares?

For the most part I agree with you, however trying to duplicate the roof rack from a 59 hearse on a 2012 smart car isn’t going to work.
Personally i feel if you aren’t working with a car similar to the Ecto 1, you need to do your own thing. Borrow elements to homage it, but not duplicate as it just won’t look right.
But that’s my opinion. Bottom line? Your vehicle, your time, your money. Do what you want, ignore the hate, but consider the critiques as they may have a point if you’re doing something fundamentally wrong… like using duct tape instead of welding or something like that
