can anyone suggest me a way to make cheap lights for pack & gun? and tell me where i cand find them…here in italy there is nothing that fit my desires… thank you all ![]()
i lit my proton packs for about 20 bucks each last haloween and they came out looking immaculate (well, the lighting was incredible for the price, and i kinda fell into it)
i used 2 sets of lights similar to these:
they flash in succession, so you can actually line them up behind a blue tinted glass for your power cell, and do the same with the cyclotron so that it looks like they have a repeating pattern, almost exactly like some of the 60$-140$ light kits would get you.
in the gun i just painted the bulbs or used lenses to light it with a single string. kept it on steady glow and it worked out fine.
(i mainly used poxy and loctite to secure the lights to the inside of the pack and in the gun)
Great!!
how did you treated the “battery box”?
I was thinking this for the gun: i’ll put it inside the gun body, replacing the on/off switch with a “gun-looking” switch and put it into the trigger box…
For the pack i’ll secure it on the ALICE…
what do you think?
My battery box for the pack is on the lower left. if you look in my wip images, odds are you can probably see them.
Originally I hot glued them into place, but when I recently had to change the batteries (I switch from cheap ones I found were coroding to rechargibles, which have more juice, and are brighter then the junk batteries I bought before.)
There is a rubber pressure switch on the box, so I just press that, and press the botton on our power supply jogging lights, and our packs are fired up!
I also used a set in my crankbox, and I mounted that on the back of the mb. Since its also black, it blends in perfectly, and just looks like additionsal pack detail.
I use http://www.superbrightleds.com/ They are awesome and cheap. They have pre-built parts so all you have to do is attach a battery and you are done. They also sell single LEDS if you want to mess with your own stuff, and they also have blinking LEDs. I have some info about them on my thread.
If one didn’t know any better, one might think there were no electronic components stores in all of Europe by looking at this board…
I believe they were outlowed by the geneva convention. ![]()
