Are you like me and happy the game has been pushed back?

Well god I hope so. The wonderfully put together posts about how people are “SO F***ING MAD THEY SHOOT BEES OUT OF THIER MAN ■■■■” have gotten a little old.

After calmly reading over the numerous amounts of information available, especially from proton charging and from my own person experience. I’m quite pleased about the delay. First of all I can save up a little more scratch for any kind of special edition or what not for the game. It gives me more time to save up to construct a proton pack so that I can hang around to help promote the game when it does come out.

I’m also happy that this will give the studios a little more time to fine tune and test the video game. I think the video game looks good, sometimes even great, but some times the textured just seem a little bland and the AI a little stoic. Hopefully this delay will give the good guys some more time to tweak and make the game even more amazing.

Also to coencide with the 25 anniversery? I’m all game. I think that’s a great way to at least keep the pilot light running on the video game, besides with such a large title like Gears of War 2 being released, it’s just not good for Ghostbusters to have any compitition.

So yeah, I’m damn happy they have more time for this game. Because look at what we’ve gotten when they rush things… Extream Ghostbusters, a terrible DVD Re-release, and a dead end comic book.

Here’s to taking things nice and easy.

yeah actually I think this is good. I was rather late to this prop building party, so hopefully my pack will be ready by the new release date.

Plus there are so many other games coming out this fall, GB would be buried alongside them and GB will be there to fill that spring/summer high profile game void.

While I’m ticked that the game has been pushed back form the original October release date, I am glad that it has due to the fact that it can get refined while we wait for it to be published on the 25th anniversary, making it better than what we’ve seen and heard.

Your right but some of us are just impatient if anything.

All good points…hopefully all good comes out of the delay & hopefully we get the official announcement very soon.

This is how I look at the delay…I get to spend some time enjoying the force unleashed and gears of war 2 before ghostbusters comes out. and that is good news for me

I’m not happy that it is delayed, but if it means getting a better game, then I have no problem whatsoever… heck, I’m just happy it will be released.

I’m not happy.. but I am not upset either.

Not really too thrilled. Other than the delay of playing, just anticipating all the “whats the latest news with the game/i heard it’s canceled/I’m mad it’s not out” topics then again once it would have come out it would have been a million “OMG I got teh game” topics, but its a message board so that’s expected either way

Well, I hope it means we get a better game, but from what I understood it was already pretty much done. I’m not very fond of Sony using the 25th anniversary as a ploy to market to all of us fans. We were already there waiting. Now we get dunked while they try and figure out how to market it to non-fans? Whatever. I don’t like to put up negative sounding posts, but I was pretty ticked when I saw the update on Amazon. Knew it was comin’, but still ticked. Oh, well. I’ll get over it. I guess the new mode of thinking shall now be… “I can’t wait 'til June 30th 2009!!” w00t.

I’m not exactly happy about it but I will admit it’s kinda nice as there are already a ton of killer games scheduled to release before the holiday.Sales should improve when it’s not pitted against the huge AAA titles.

Excellent point. Perhaps it gives it more time for publicity. It might generate more merchandise, and we all know how much we love merchandise.

“control!!! control!!! you must learn control!!!”-yoda

I am upset whenever a game I look forward to is pushed back, for whatever reason. But as long as it’s coming out eventually it doesn’t much matter to me.

The last few folks in this thread have summed up my personal feelings quite nicely. No, I’m certainly not happy at all that the game is being pushed back. I personally think being happy about it is being way too positive about it. We should be upset, especially as we were so close, and all reports seemed to say that the game was pretty much done, and looked REALLY cool.

However, it definitely isn’t the end of the world. I’m not amongst the people yelling, screaming, and cursing and saying I want to burn down Sony and Activision either. As long as we eventually get the game, I will be happy. However, you can’t help but be p*$$ed off that we were so close only to have the rug yanked out from under us yet again and forced to wait even longer. What is even worse is all of the uncertainty. It wouldn’t be quite so bad if things could be resolved.

Basically, we all just have to wait patiently and hope for the best. As long as the game eventually comes out, I will be extremely happy.

Amen,brother.

Just an idea that has come to me is this:

Next year is the 25th anniversary. Maybe Activision decided to drop the title because Sony were pushing for a release next year. It does seem strange they would drop a title that has so much interest and one in which they have been so heavily involved with in the past. Sony know that the Blu-Rays will most likely be out next year and want to coincide all the releases together for more exposure, which does make sense.

It also wouldn’t surprise me one bit if the ‘rumours’ of the 3rd film are confirmed around the same time by Sony. Maybe that’s what they are gearing for.

Just a thought from me, I’m not saying it’s true or I believe it myself, but I do know how marketing people work with my ex working in a big marketing department before.
