25th anniversary is going to RULE!
10 months to go.
Damn It!!! 10 MORE GOD DAMN MONTHS? If that’s true, I’m to the point I really don’t care if this game gets canceled or not. I’ve waited 9 months with only 3 to go, and now I’m hearing I have to wait almost another god damn year. Screw Activision and Screw sony!!!..
While I cant say that I am as distressed as Robo, I must say that I am more than a little crestfallen.
This just seems like a mistake to me as it only serves to disappointed the core fan base that have already spent a year or more depending on how you look at it pounding the video game drum.
To take that release from three months away to ten months away to honor an anniversary that frankly only the core fan base would care about in the first place seems counter productive.
Don’t get me wrong, I am thankful that the game is not canceled, but to hold it back 10 months “just because” seems like a waste of time, effort and money. Let the 25th anniversary be special for its own reasons, or give us the blue rays for the anniversary, or the cartoons, but this seems …i don’t know, I just cant be excited about this.
Er, I’d wait until official word from Sony comes about whether or not they really are going to release the game in ten months time.
As it says in the article, this has presented them with an opportunity, but will they actually act on it, considering the possible millions they’ve already sunk into the game’s PR as it is? Who knows?
I agree CJay, I just hope that in the meantime the realize that shelving it, just to hold on to it for a little whole longer is not the best choice. Honestly I have been checking out a few sites now and I keep reading that “more time make for a better game.”
Which is true, IF they work on it during that time. But I don’t see them having the crews work on this for another 7 or 8 months when its near completed now. Financially it doesn’t make sense to pay the crew to go on working with this as during that time the technology thats cutting edge today will become yesterdays news in a year.
I agree, until we hear something offical from sony, all we are doing is getting upset over rumors. Lets let them make the announcement and then go from there

I may be furious at Activision and Sony right now but I’m still gonna’ get the game regardless. Being a Ghosthead (to me at least) comes before my pride.
Doesn’t mean I’ll be buying any Activision games though.

Activision dropped Ghostbusters cause they don’t want to be associated with a “lackluster” product.
And everybody thinks that the game is going to be SOOOO much better a year from now, i wont be surprised if we get the EXACT same game in June 2009 that we would have gotten in October 2008!!!

I’m just hoping June 2009 is not set in stone & a fall release is still a possiblity. After waiting almost a year already, waiting another year would be very aggravating. At least I still have GOW2 & StarWars: the Force Unleashed to look forward to.
