That is some kind of awesome. My general impetus for trying to pull together a GB uniform for Halloween is that my 4-year-old daughter fell in love with the Ghostbusters while watching me play the game and now desperately wants to be one for Halloween. So we’re going together. I’m doing the best to come up with accurate uniform for myself as quickly as possible while still making it in time for the holiday (the Proton Pack is going to be a pain..), but for my daughter’s costume it doesn’t have to be as accurate. Does anyone know of any source for the packs in the pictures without having to buy the monstrosity of the “costume” as well? It would be perfect for my daughter.
Lmao, kinda reminds me of Leon from Resident Evil 2 n 4 cept… Gay. And that is stupid how hes holding the Gun. When i went on a halloween cruise back in 07 some guys were wearing these and everyone LOVED them! I couldnt believe it! I wish i cud finish my pack then go back in time with it and like just walk up to them and be like…
“Sup Guys, how’s it hanging?”
Turns on packBzzzzzzuuuuuuuuyyyyyyiiieeeeee (pack start up sound lol)
Then walk away.
Yeah it would be Such a Dbag thing to do, but i think it would still be funny.
how many of you have seen an ebay auction with a rgb ghostpack upside down? how many have seen people wear the rgb ghost pack upside down? ive seen hundreds.
i bought a rgb pack off ebay years ago, guess what. stickers are upside down.
whats the big deal other than not everyone knows the way its supposed to go? i know im not going to walk over to an absolutely gorgeous woman in a sexy ghostbuster costume and tell her that her proton pack is upside down. that would make one look like an ■■■■■■■. say “hey great costume.” and if you’re not homely, get her number.
They are. As a fan of various shows and movies, browsing the Rubies website is a wonderland of getting everything wrong.
Also why is the guy holding the wand that way? Ghostbusters isn’t an obscure movie, you’d think an intern or something would tell them how it is supposed to be held.
yeah most likely that is the reason. Personally i think if they are going to sell a product such as this they should at least take the time to make it look right , especially if they are going to have the nerve to sell these things for up to $50.00!!! I mean I am not an idiot i realize these costumes will never look as good as anything that is fan made. But i mean the company should have enough respect for there products, customers, and themselves to make them look half decent and not have packs upside down and throwers made so cheap that you have to hold it a certain way or it will bend…ugh
I don’t think there is any reason why they couldn’t have delivered a better looking outfit for a reasonable price. The pack could have been foam filled rubber, vacuform or blow molded.
If it was a $20 costume what it is would make more sense, but a $50 costume? Ripoff.
As for why it’s inflatable over a rubber or foam pack and gun…it’s all about mass production and packaging. Notice how in a Halloween store every costume is in those plastic bags with a hook? They can probably fit a good 50 costumes into one master case. Whereas if they made a decent foam backpack they could only fit like 1 or 2 per box and then it costs them more money for each box.
It’s all about making a quick buck. It’s sad that some of these movie companies actually license these costumes though…I see the costumes for Star Wars and cringe. But…I guess to a “non-costume obsessed” it looks great. shrugs
