The whole thing takes place at Christmas time, Gizmo was an early present, and the fight at the end takes place in a store that’s closed because it’s christmas! Easily as much of a Christmas movie as die hard!
That’s what I say! I actually had this arugement with a co-worker she swears it’s a horror film (don’t ask) and therefore cannot be classified as a christmas movie.

O.K. I’ll say it. Ghostbusters 2 is a New Year’s movie…that’s the holiday everything centers around, not Christmas.
And to cowboybill, call your co-worker a racist. It doesn’t make sense but neither does her argument. A horror movie CAN be a Christmas movie…how can you say Black Christmas isn’t a Christmas movie? CHRISTMAS IS IN THE TITLE!
