I didn’t know where else to put this since I’m new to this site and all, but it does pertain to GB3.
I’m a big fan of all the cast members of GB, though I’ve always held a soft spot for Aykroyd and especially Ramis as Egon. One of the troubling things as a fan that I only just found out (noob fan here) is the animosity Murray has towards Ramis because of Groundhog Day. Now I’ve read everything I can find on the interwebs and all fingers point to Murray being an ■■■■. Now how are they going to make GB3 if as I’ve read Reitman decides to produce and Ramis directs? Both Reitman and Aykroyd seem to be fine with this though how this would work with Murray I’m clueless on. Aside from reading that Ramis has on several occasions extended the olive branch to Murray, even casting him in The Ice Harvest-a role he flat-out rejected-I’d say he’d pass on the film.
Now don’t get me wrong, I love Murray, I have a TON of his films on dvd and this came as a real downer to me that he is this way. Of course with the way things are going I wouldn’t be surprised if the original cast had very little screentime or none at all, which would resolve the Murray problem there. I just think it’s unfortunate that things are this way between the two, both are enormously gifted and together they’ve done some genuinely great stuff.
Sorry if this has been brought up before but I couldn’t find anything anywhere. I just wonder how this will work out for the movie (if it gets made) and how other fans feel about it.
