I love your props bradboss! The latest pic is cool and makes it look a little cleaner. I love all of the reactions you get. it seems like your props really puzzle people and I think it’s great. it’s a hell of a lot more creative than just slapping pre-made parts together.

An Oscilloscope does not measure sound waves . They display the different sine waves of AC and DC voltage and current.

He made something related to this board and wanted to show it off and get comments. If you don’t like it you don’t need to post that, and if you feel the need that badly atleast find a way to be constructive.
da Burgh, while your pack may not be what we all enjoy and are used to seeing it’s unique and you get a kick out of it and have fun with it so good for you. It doesn’t look bad for something made from so many different little parts from around the house.

Ha, Ha! Thanks for the “props” guys (pun intended). It is nice to get honest feedback (I like the positive, but I can’t please everyone, right?) You can learn things from negative comments, too (as long as they say why they don’t like something, or if they misunderstand something). I don’t have the “tools or the talent” that many people here do, but if I inspire other people to push boundaries a little and post their stuff, than that’s great. Like Karen Carpenter sang, “Don’t worry if it’s not good enough for anyone else to hear. Just sing, sing a song” . : ) This site is too big and too global to just be about putting together resin parts or what kind of Clippard valve to use. We all learn a lot here about props, materials, techniques, electronics, etc. and get to make some friends, too. Who ya gonna call?

oh, and fluxcapacitor, Bo is Bo. He isn’t crazy about my stuff, but he’s an American, with a right to free speech and his honest opinion. He has used “sir” in a few posts, and has tried to be civil. I would really like to see what kind of stream would your pack throw. Any ideas??? How would it sound? Could be a cool photoshop project, at least to do the stream.

Yes, I know!!! I want to put it in the basement. As far as the streams go, it still makes protons like a normal pack. It’s just the way it produces them is different. (THz femtosecond lasers pulsed at a Mylar ribbon powered by a SCWC reactor vs a regular pack with a cyclotron)
Believe it or not, I used my Mac to make custom pack/nutrona wand sound mp3’s. I have to burn them to a CD for the built-in mp3/CD player in the pack. Still have lots of time for that, then maybe I’ll film it and put it on YouTube or something. As for Photoshop, hmmmm…: )

I agree, maybe I just couldn’t tell your tone or misunderstood your intended way of comment. It just sounded to me like you were being really blunt with the guy and giving him a harder time then you needed to just becuase his pack doesn’t conform with the rest of ours. As long as he’s cool with it though then it’s all good.
Whether he’s cool with it or not is irrelevent, If he’s going to post pictures of his “pack” he HAS to be prepared for negative comments. Who gives a shit about hurting people’s feelings.

The pack is too “busy” for me… it is no where as elegant and simple as the movie pack.
Too many things for the eye to look at on it.
you know, it SORTA reminds me of that pack Egon and Ray whipped up out of random parts in that one episode of RGB… thing blew up, but still…
I sort of like it as a new pack prototype, but as a field-use pack? not so much.
it will probably be “cleaner” if it makes it to a field use pack. We test a lot of new tech here. The standard ones have a half life of 5000 yrs, so that’s one heck of a warranty…Still, science and tech marches on. : )
That proton pack actually looks more like the concept art for the Wii GB Game’s Pack than what this guy has goin’.

I really dig it. I am all for innovation, and using what you have. My pack also doesnt have any flashy lights or sound effects. It also cost less then fifty bucks. By some standards it’s “no good then”…But IF it looks good an you are happy then hell yeah, that is a good pack.
I am a fan of your work, and would like to see some Mac traps, pke meters and ecto goggles! I see you are also from pittsburgh, you should (go to) wear that stuff at the Pittsburgh comicon, We have a Ghostbuster group going this year.
